Joe Kearns... I think you're right. He plays different character types too in a bunch of these Whistler shows: henpecked husband, tyrannical boss, conniving accountant, mild-mannered murderer...

This is not a good series. It is crudely written and poorly acted and the Whistler has no apparent function in the series
