Ruth Walker looked beautiful there standing by the window. Part of it was because Ruth knew how to look beautiful and more importantly when to look beautiful. She realized the importance of her appearance when she was very young. Now at this very late hour her employer Charles Verdun seems especially susceptible to her wistful seemingly innocent beauty and as Charles smiles at her and she smiles in return the relationship of secretary and employer seems to change. Her apartment Charles seems to forget his jewellery store, his troubles at home, everything but his immediate surroundings.
