To add to that I think her character was always a little not there/insane to begin with all the time. So to see her go out in such a pathetic way fits her imo. That said I'm so sad about her death because she was so iconic in this series. I will miss her.

He was raised a arcissist from all the cuddling and spoiling by his mother, who also has no healthy boundaries and a lot of entitlement. Tanya on the other hand was a victim of an abusive mother, who messed her up good, and the trauma bonding even goes beyond her death, i.e. she is not capable of letting even her ash go. Tanya and Shane both crave constant narcissistic supply but in opposite symmetries. Shane uses his status to harass the hotel manager and when Armond uses some manipulation to get back at Shane that creates a total obession. He his hooked on the antagonism because that conflict allows him to generate a lot of attention and wield his power to demonstrate his status. Everything a malignant narcissist lives for. Vulnerable Tanya on the other hand dangles her wealth and status as a lure and control mechanism to draw helpers into the gravity of her bottomless self-pity. Narcissists are often described as emotional vampires. The malignant ones suck your energy by creating unwinnable conflicts and fights and then humiliating you, the vulnerable ones make you responsible for their pityful situation while acting like a helpless, easily irritated child you need to calm and appease at all times. Which is very clearly what Tanya does to both Belinda and Portia, and probably also why Greg feels so trapped and exhausted by her. In season one Tanya needed just a week to suck all empathy out of Belinda who then was too drained to help Shane's wife. Imagine a year of marriage to her... Guess I got a bit detailed in saying: Tanya may be iconic and fun to watch as a character, but she is also a toxic narcissists who is unable to form any kind of healthy relationship.

But I will miss her because her character creates moments that are so memorable and dramatic. I don't think anyone watching the show really seriously idolizes Tanya or most of the characters in the White Lotus for that matter. It's just that it's fantasy and people like to revel in scandalous drama. And I feel like the show thrives on this idea because after all it's a satirical piece that is meant to reflect how insane and inhumane the elites are. TLDR: I love Tanya as a character not as a person. I wouldn't want to know her irl.
