I looked forward to every episode. I loved the off-kilter humor (Mike White) and the top-notch cast. I recognized Bartlett from the limited run on HBO of Looking -set in the Castro District in SF. He and many Australian actors are so good at American accents that it usually surprises me when I hear them interviewed.

White lotus would have been much better if they focused more on the staff than the boring rich guests.

It would have been a different show. One of the main themes of the show was to depict how the rich boring guests mistreated and exploited the staff and this symbolically represented the exploitation and abuse that occurred under Colonialism (which is a major reason it was set in Hawaii).

Looking back, Ellen was so transparent and fake. I don’t know how we didn’t catch on earlier that she was a bit of an egomaniac and a controlling diva. Loved the White Lotus show btw. I’m probably in the minority who preferred s1. Armond was the highlight of the season.
