I feel Meg's drumming is, contrary to some posts pretty good - importantly it 'suits' the White Stripes and Jack's playing - just enough - not over the top. I suppose it is the same way that Ringo supported the Beatles, Keith Moon supported the Who and Ginger Baker supported Cream each having definitive styles, which supported the rest of the band and the music they made. Check out Jools in Squeeze Up The Junction.

I’ve always said she wasn’t the best drummer, but the right drummer.
@ladycharlesmusic4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, she did EXACTLY what was needed for the band. There were garage bands in their era with better drummers from a traditional standpoint, but no one sounded like these two did together. In that sense, I think she was quite good. Plus I think it's a testament to her innate musicality that they are so great to listen to even though she had zero drum experience - that would be a recipe for disaster in most cases as even a so so drummer can really destroy a band's energy.
