This is my favourite recording of my favourite song. The album version I loved to bits, listening to it hundreds of times, but it seems stale compared to the brilliant energy and power of the live versions, and the ending that changes from the album version just feels so sweet and nice, I can't help love this song. Hello Operator is so fucking banging it's unbelievable, especially in the live recordings.

Meg White is actually the best drummer I've seen in a long time. She doesn't overpower the performance, she never overshadows Jack, and she has an almost telepathic ability to follow his cues no matter where he goes with an improvised riff. Going off on ten minute solos and overpowering the vocals and guitars does not make a "good" drummer, in my book.

the white stripes is my generations Led Zeppelin...jacks voice resembles Robert plants voice a bit on some of the albums. The early 2000s were pretty cool. we had the coolest reincarnation of AFI with "sing the sorrow", we had "The Darkness", we had "Jet"...we've hung on to something special i guess. To my knowledge Jack White only uses 2 pedals. 1. American Big Muff - distortoin/sustain pedal. 2. Digitech Whammy wh-4 - used to get this high screech sound with the octave up setting. Also used to imitate a bass, see 7 nation army. I guess this is the pedal you meant.

you're pretty good looking remains me twist and shout or a beatle song. jack white is very intelligent, he sometimes takes these beatles' "strategies" if i could called it that way: short melodical songs (sorry for my english speech, i'm argentine). other examples are little ghost, you don't what love is or effect and cause... think about it! it's incredible how excited it's the crowd! love that in the end seems that jack is gonna kiss meg :P
