I think that design should become very popular with the the people who spend time out in the woods or trail and want a beautifully crafted tool to deal with some of the chores they may have to deal with. It looks very compact yet very sturdy and functional. It will last someone for a lifetime and way more. I think it is surely going to be in high demand. Thank you for giving us a look at it. See you on the next one.

I'm going to enjoy building some of these Terry, It makes a change from the usual bushcrafters, though the builds are very similar. I just like it's simple design

Excellent Sandy. I am a big fan of small knives. So many want a massive 'Crocodile Dundee' blade capable of chopping down trees at a single stroke (and stabbing angry crocs) but forget about all those tasks that need a smaller more delicately bladed knife! Spot on ! Love it 👍

The woodland whittler is a great name. Back in the 1970s, all us lads had a penknife to do whittling with. Simple and better times.

Those are good-looking knives, Sandy. Small but sturdy work tools with a beautiful finish. The wood carvers will come out of the woodwork with ideas for you. There are as many special little knives for carving as there are different woods in the forest.

Would you consider tapering the tangs and contouring the handle at all, with a palm swell?
@Jackloreknives
@Jackloreknives Жыл бұрын
No and No :) I want to keep things simple for these knife builds, also the handle shape does not work well with a palm swell/ flared pommel in my opinion

Hi Sandy, excellent as usual, [I want one 😁] 👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏 I find that there aren’t many knifes available with a large handle and short blade, so you may have found a niche in the market. As someone who wood carves I find the normal woodlore / jacklore to be a great design all round but just as you say, doesn’t do it for the detailed work. Most small blade carvers usually have small handles as well so as someone who suffers from Carpal tunnel the larger handle helps. [Easier to grip and less fatiguing] You might want to experiment with the depth of the bevel, [for a carver I am not sure what the sweet spot for the optimum blade width and bevel angle actually is] 🤔
