I like a lot of their songs from the Kenny years. I don't think that he had much to do with it though. I think it was mostly Pete's influence. Maybe the producer.

Did they re-master this whole album and bump up the piano or synth track wherever possible? On a lot of these Face Dances tracks I'm hearing a lot more keyboards than I remember from the original vinyl release (going by decades-old memory).

It’s definitely been remastered. You hear everything more clearly but that does not necessarily mean it’s better. It’s funny how the individuals are great musicians without question, but sometimes less is more. I’m glad to have both versions however so you can compare them and hear the parts

I’ve listen to this remastered version twice now back to back with the version that came out originally and while it’s nice to hear the piano part and most of the parts are more clear, it’s not as good as the original. The base runs at the end of the phrases or one of the highlights of the song and they get drowned out by the new stronger backing vocals. The aforementioned piano part actually becomes distracting in many parts of the song and it’s just something to fill in on the background it should not be a prominent musical part. Still nice to hear the individual musicians highlighted.
