Gotta love it. The way they play live and all feed off each other and know how to jive and mix it all in together, each improvising in their own way as it goes along is really really special. You will never hear this kind of live play any more. Most bands simply cannot do it.

I love The Beatles, The Stones, Led Zep. They are undeniably talented and influential. But there’s something about The Who and this performance (and ‘69 Woodstock and perhaps Hull) in particular. I can listen to this era Who forever. All 4 members were just peaking in terms of dynamism and musicality. Sparks live is my fave though…. Wow. So much power, precision and sensitivity in one song and not a lyric in sight. I’ve introduced and converted so many people to The Who through this live set. Greatest ever? Could be

Right on! I love the jam-band element of early Who (Young Man Blues is another fav). I wish there were more quality recordings from 1968-70 - do you know of any besides Fillmore East, Amsterdam, Tanglewood, Hull and Woodstock?

and all the heavy metal bands were just beginning to form...they had to copy this genre .the who at the peak would have blown led zep at this time and all other harrd rock groups of this era

Such a good groove This band copied its peers But The Who also had its own enviable sound I wish Keith Moon had not died so young! I will pray for America. Please pray for me. God Bless you.
