My favorite music back in the 60's and 70's were from The Who and "The Moody Blues". I am 69 now and still listen to them. My little granddaughters dance to them. They call it mama's music!

Ah ! The good old Moody Blues ! What a wonderful band. Days of future past and a threshold of a dream were immense. The blue Jay's were decent when they broke away from the others. I am seventy and occasionally listen to their music through my NAS box. Justine Hayward had the most melodic voice in pop music.

I'm a pinball player from way back. To me the most amazing part about that album was that they were able to weave a story line around the game of pinball and make it sell. I'm not sure any other band could have pulled that off without making it sound corny.

see 'the History of TOMMY' DVD, and see how close to not getting on the LP 'Pinball Wizard' really was. Pete does play that single note (high E string?) thru out , and it does sound electronic, like a machine. live, he had to stick to chords.

Roger Daltrey is 76, so whose that barely fifty year old doing the interview, thanks Rog loved the album, in fact i think i've got all the versions of Tommy, i also hope that it gets reinvented every few years for ever, can you imagine in 200 years a new Tommy.

I was living in Saint Ronnan's road when the band were making the movie. Apparently my landlord's father was involved as an Architect / adviser to the film crew. One Saturday night the entire band visited our residence and a full blown booze up ensued. Unfortunately I was out playing snooker with my flatmate that night and missed out on the fun. What a bummer !

He was and still is one of the greatest. Where he lost me was when he started asking for money in exchange for his autograph. Then he blasted fans for smoking the "Pot" at the Who concerts. The Who are the reason many in their 60's & 70's still smoke the "Pot" to this day. WTF? Gosh, "I hope I die before I get old!"

Pinball Wizard Was the reason we... 11yearold me and my 13yearold brother had to see it, Elton John singing Pinball Wizard!!! The movie was restricted so you had to be 16 or have your parent with. Somehow we got in. I've got the movie soundtrack, located the movie on VHS, and on DVD too. Just to see Eric Clapton Eyesight To The Blind, Tina Turner do Acid Queen, Paul Nicholas Cousin Kevin, Elton John Pinball Wizard, or hear Jack Nicholson sing. or see Roger Hang Glide. It's a great movie.

@@den264 My brother and I were thinking the same thing at the time. We knew we shouldn't be seeing it! I remember every minute of that film. The Uncle Ernie scene raised a lot more questions, and I wasn't far off knowing what was going on. As for the Ann Margaret thing we were thinking how gross it would be covered with all that goop... Talk about playing with your food! I hoped her Dad didn't make her to eat it like my Dad would!
