No...it was *JAMES BROWN & THE FAMOUS FLAMES* that recorded it...BUT their record WAS inspired by THE ISLEY BROTHERS' "SHOUT" , which was THE ORIGINAL.

dont think they're trying to best the original..its more of a homage to JB with their own take on it..guess you could say its been Who'd..or Mooned😆 maximum R+B eitherway..my favorite period of da Ooo.
