There’s some pretty heavy bands out there. Heavy to a fault. Like Death metal. There’s bands like Cattle Decap who make terrifying noise. There really skilled at whatever they’re doing though. It looks really difficult lol
@nickjohnson7102 жыл бұрын
@@oldaccount5217 Yeah!!! But the who started that sound, then orher bands made it heavy, really heavy I listen to some of them bands, not the bands you mentioned.....The who are the Godfathers of metal, and punk

OCTOBER 2020 this song and the LIVE AT LEEDS album is a record in the pages of Rock history of the The Who's live sound at the height of their on stage playing. I'd like to think this album gave them the phrase Tour de Force and Best Live Act, but some may argue that live at Charlton in 1976 earned them it.

"Summertime Blues", a song co-written and first recorded by American rockabilly artist Eddie Cochran in 1958, by British rock group the Who, released in 1970 from the album "Live at Leeds." kzbin.info/www/bejne/r4alqmeQq9WUgMU You can listen to the 1958 recording by Eddie Cochran (1938 - 1960) here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z3SWaY2bq9ysrpY Lyrics: I'm gonna raise a fuss, I'm gonna raise a holler About a-workin' all summer just to try to earn a dollar Every time I call my baby, try to get a date My boss says, "no dice son, you gotta work late" Sometimes I wonder what I'm a-gonna do But there ain't no cure for the summertime blues Well, my mom and pop told me, "son, you gotta make some money" If you want to use the car to go ridin' next Sunday Well, I didn't go to work, told the boss I was sick "Well, you can't use the car 'cause you didn't work a lick" Sometimes I wonder what I'm a gonna do But there ain't no cure for the summertime blues I'm gonna take two weeks, gonna have a fine vacation I'm gonna take my problem to the United Nations Well, I called my congressman and he said "whoa!" "I'd like to help you son but you're too young to vote" Sometimes I wonder what I'm a gonna do But there ain't no cure for the summertime blues

That song got a lot of air play in 1970 in my city but the oldie stations NEVER play it anymore. Unless you were alive in '70 you might not know that this awesome Who cover exists. Stupid radio thinks its God ..... The Radio giveth and the Radio taketh away.
@hunter3715 жыл бұрын
You're right. I never knew about this cover until watching the Woodstock film recently. Blown away they covered this. All classic rock stations play the SAME songs over and over again.
@frdjr25274 жыл бұрын
In 1970, rock bands had to have at least one song from an album that was AM top 40 radio friendly to broaden exposure. Progressive rock formats were taking off in '70, but very few cars were equipped with FM. In the NYC area, 50% and probably more of the residences didn't own an FM receiver. It was a totally different time.
@juliachildress29432 жыл бұрын
@frdjr252 I went to Texas in 1972 with my military spouse, AM was the only thing out there. When I returned to the east coast a year later and heard of something called FM radio, it was like Alice through the looking glass and there was no going back. Omg the music. Spirit, Leon Russell, Quicksilver, The Who, Jethro Tull, the list goes on. I'm 70 years old and still play this stuff most every day.
