The weirdest part of this sketch is how much real information it contains.

Batteries are still frequently called "piles" in French, but this coincidental appellation is completely unrelated to Volta's Pile. It actually comes from the French verb "piler", "to crush", as the very first French batteries were created not too long after Volta's, during the Revolution of 1789, using the discarded remnants of the nobility. It was thought that by juicing the souls out of nobles' bones, they could be stored within a crystalline compound and produce energy for a later date. Due to the abundance of guillotined noblemen, many different takes on the French pile were attempted, and though unsuccessful, this model would later become the inspiration for Soul gems in the Elder Scrolls franchise. And that's a Rock Fact!

I have a tremendous amount of respect for the amount of scripting that must go into these segments to make them so fluid.

I fully expect that someday Paul will write one of these sketches using only correct, yet wholly unbelievable, information. The world is weird out there. It's why I try to stay inside, after all.

AkujiMalice Why do I bring shame to geeks? Btw, I don't want to have a internet fight over this, but your comment was very rude and uncalled for.
@AkujiMalice9 жыл бұрын
Just a Normal Geek you call yourself "just a normal geek". You proceed to call "first" with your first post, a self-congratulating statement that serves no purpose and has irritated the internet since... basically since there has been posts in which to be first. That's the justifications and you're targeting a post that was made so over the top as "you bring shame to geeks" but don't want an internet fight? ... You're aware this is youtube, right? Ah well. have a good night.
@tad79119 жыл бұрын
So what is wrong with that?
@AkujiMalice9 жыл бұрын
Just a Normal Geek ... that's kinda the joke. It's considered fairly obnoxious and you get a lot of moaning and groaning over people posting 'first" as the first post.... I guess it wastes the first post? I dunno. people hate it.
