Most insulting part, to me: Getting rid of the '66 Batman poster. The show, while ridiculous, is a classic, and is partially responsible for introducing "normies" to Batman. Fair enough, later portrayals were much less comedic and weren't played for laughs, and were more in line with what we comic fans wanted, but the show was an important part of DC and tv history. Adam West was a national treasure. No way I'd replace Adam West with nondescript flowers. Oh and the serial killer sitting in the back of the class. Great bit.

I remember this episode. On Eric's first day, the Jewish teacher jokingly said, “Let’s all make Eric feel welcome. Let’s mug him.” SBTB: The New Class recycled this storyline with a stepbrother named Nicky Farina whose actor was instead a permanent cast member. Nicky (like the teacher) made a lame "New York is dangerous" reference, "I'm from New York. We even lock up our garbage." Also, the character who gained a stepbro was a guy, unlike Jesse in the original. With the lack of originality in the spinoff, you'd think the writers would at least have the stepbrother be from somewhere else besides New York. FYI, in another episode, Nicky was jealous because his GF was having dinner with her ex, Todd (Kelly Kapowski's ex's name). Come on, maaayne!

Wicked Step Brother: Part One-a masterpiece of suburban tragedy. Jessie Spano’s new stepbrother, Eric, swaggers into Bayside like a leather-jacketed tornado of dysfunction, a symbol of how blended families can be less “Brady Bunch” and more “Darwinian deathmatch.” This guy’s got a motorcycle and an attitude so sharp it could cut through Mr. Belding’s lunch budget. Eric immediately makes it his mission to dominate, humiliating Jessie and charming Zack and Slater because, naturally, the world rewards chaos. He’s a toxic cocktail of charisma and cruelty, the kind of guy who probably kicks puppies in his spare time but somehow still gets invited to parties. Jessie, bless her caffeine-addled soul, tries to keep it together, but watching her seethe while Eric takes over her life is like witnessing a slow-motion car crash-awful, yet mesmerizing. The episode ends with a classic sitcom setup for disaster, leaving us to wonder: will Jessie snap and shove Eric off his precious motorcycle, or will she just stew in silent rage until Part Two? Either way, it’s peak Bayside drama, wrapped in a shiny veneer of laugh tracks and terrible life lessons.

And those five songs are amazing. And since you've opened the door... Jimmy Eat World was a big band for me in high school, as they lived around me and I got to see them eventually explode. Their first self-titled album is something I consider a more-listenable Fugazi - which isn't saying much as the album isn't super, but I can at least find some enjoyment in each of the songs. But when Static Prevails came out, us locals were pretty excited to hear how the sound was evolving. Static Prevails is still one of my top nostalgia albums, even if Jimmy Eat World doesn't really like it (since Capitol Records kinda forced them to go with the first wave emo sound, which eventually led them to pioneering the second wave of emo with Clarity).

@@savedbythebelldeepdives Speaking of Dustin Diamond I just now came across a music video albeit it says deleted scenes from "Stutter" from about 14 years ago which features a more mature Dustin but the video has a sad ending I won't give it away here. You should talk about it on a vol. 4 of Dustin Diamond Deep Dives! 🤔🙄🤨🙆

Meshuggah is a great band, unconventional but smart. Try Rational Gaze

I like these break downs, but some of the awful joke imitation voices are just cringe and terrible.

Not as bad as the "raps" gawd those are awful.

@@celebrity292 Yeah, I would prefer to have these break downs just be break downs without the creator trying to put in his own annoying humor into it.

It was a purposeful thing, as I find Eric cringe and terrible.

@@savedbythebelldeepdives Hey did you see my message about Dustin Diamond being in a music video from 14 years ago? Also who knew that a season 7 episode 5 scene of "Friends" would actually foreshadow Matthew Perrys death? Even spookier is what he says at the very end of the episode. He says he'll be the first to go...😢🔍🦇🕵
