Many people may have wondered what that strange head is doing on top of the Malmaison hotel in Oxford. Well, this is the story behind it.
The Wicker Man's head is removed and craned up on to the castle mound in Oxford. It's the first time such a sculpture has been on this historic mound. Then the head is placed for a period of four weeks on the roof of the Mal Maison, a prestigious Oxford Hotel. With the head visible to so many people it is hoped that lots of money will be raised for Maggie's from this location.
Please return for regular updates about this year's project, including the build, the tour, and eventually the burn at the Oxford Round Table Fireworks display at South Parks in Oxford. Last year's even was a huge success, and the 2011 event promises to be even more popular and raise even more money for its supported charities.
