I know I landed here because I kept watching SB mowing after work when my mind was tired and I just needed to stare at my TV while not thinking much and the algorithm was like "You should watch drains being cleaned!" It's a bit like oddly satisfying videos. I can't really stop watching but sometimes I'll watch in disgust haha Still, I love to see a unblocked drain 😄 I'm watchin from Austria - but I guess were close at heart, because I can't tell you how many times people thought I was from Australia. In Japan I was invited to THREE interviews of English schools because they thought I had written Australia in my resume. And then they were disappointed I'm not a native English speaker... Whoops haha But as a native English speaker it is nice to hear the Australian dialect, since I usually only get to hear british and american English. So that's fun! 😄 Keep up the good work 🎉

Bruce, I have been watching you for a while now from Carlsbad California. I judged retired from plumbing for 40 years. I have put in those grease traps and gone back to work on them. The smell is the worse in all plumbing. You are a great man the way you get those running again. Keep up the great job.

My first job was in fast food and I don't know if there are any outdoor grease traps in the USA but ours was in the building. Still the foulest thing I've ever smelled in my almost 48 years on this Earth. A close second is probably growing up in the countryside and our sewage laterals getting basically saturated and the filth rising to the surface. So, I know exactly what that second job in the video smelled like, too. Congrats on your retirement sir!

Bruce, The content , with your enthusiam, makes for great video. At the beginning, the shot of all the roaches running around in the sewer, reminds me of a kitchen remodel , that i did years ago. There were so many roaches, my wife would not let me into the house. I changed clothes in the garage, then i had to spray the garage with insecticide. Had to spray my van ,also. Roaches will be around forever.

Hi Bruce, I've bloody well subscribed, UK here, great videos, pulled me in. Never thought I'd be enjoying drain unblocking, however, once or twice a year our waste drain blocks (90 degree bend into main sewage pipe), 10-15 meters of rodding. Have to say you cannot beat that WOOSH when it clears, pure satisfaction! Keep up the good work.!

Before I retired I was maintaining a property portfolio of main university students flats. So blocked drains were no1 on my hit list! I was tooled up for most normal situations and got the repretation that I liked unblocking drains and sewer pipes. I did, maybe not with your huge amount of enthusiasm. Anyway, the crew couldn't figure out why I didn't gag or complain of the smells. Well, I've not had a sense of smell for 35 yrs ! A benefit most of the time ! What a splendid way to spend a Saturday afternoon as you caused me to jump out of my seat from giant grease explosions, made my skin crawl from watching those creepy cockroaches (do you think they're C-R-R-R-R-unchy 🤢?), and making me jump for joy after you found the access point, and then cleared the clog! The final icing on the cake was the camera tour of the Poopy Highway, now hygienically clean. However, I can't help wonder what those other pipes were in that sewer access: water lines? electrical conduits? Either are scary thoughts. Thanks for another fine video, Bruce.

I have in fact found a drain that even Bruce couldn't unclog. The guy who built my parents' house put in a floor drain for the water softener discharge and after 30 years it started backing up. After trying to clear it from the top we eventually knocked a hole in the foundation wall (concrete blocks between lowest level and second level of a split level house) and started tunneling. I eventually found the end of the pipe and a solid block of salt the size of a beer keg. The guy had simply ran the drain pipe under the foundation and dead ended it without connecting it to the rest of the house's pipes! We eventually had to break out 3 square meters of foundation floor to run new pipe between the floor drain and the drain stack from the upper level.
