I like the dual screens, not the either or thing the switch has. They made it portable, but they did not innovate, they went backwards. Homie showing mario maker 2 having to swap into and out of the dock, and also the lack of stylus really drives home how the switch aint perfect. I miss the additional speakers in the controllers of the wii, and the dual screen experience of the ds, and those 2 things combined into the gamepad. It pains me to know that Zelda Breath of The Wild had real gamepad support planned and implemented, but it had to be axed to make both the wii u and the switch versions equal. That would have been a great game for 2 screens...

I used to use the TV Control button a lot, but it’s mostly useless now since Smart TVs have a completely different style of remote. But there is a mod that lets you switch the TV and Gamepad screens by pressing it, so it’s gain some new functionality I guess. The Wii U is also my favorite console, and I really like the gamepad when it’s used well.

I hate how the switch made you have to put it in the dock so you could use it on tv rather than what the Wii U did with you being able to have it out of the dock to play

Like the gamecube, what will people miss and be nostalgic about when it comes to the switch? I bet it will feel beyond dated 2 seconds after the next system comes.

Tank! Tank! Tank! let you play the game on the gamepad it self. It was great when my parents were watching TV and I wanted to play the Wii U as a kid.

Resident Evil Revelations had a map and weapon swapping on the gamepad screen, so that is great for Resident Evil, as pausing to see the map cuts into the pacing pretty significantly. If it had gyro aiming it would be perfect, but it does not. I wonder if anyone has worked on adding it through mods... It was a solid Wii U title, a port through, originally designed on the 3ds, I wish it had just a bit more to it, but you can't undervalue always having a map available in a Resident Evil game, it rocks...I beat that game on infernal difficulty.

The Wii U version was the weakest version out of the rest because of cut content which is the problem for Wii U AAA ports. The switch version had all the contents from the ps3/360 version.

I dont like how in Twilight Princess HD the long arrow skill shot is much easier using the gamepad or controller instead of the wii remote. It cheapened the experience of trying to shakily make a long range seemingly impossible shot. I made it first try on the gamepad, but on wii, I remember struggling appropriately and feeling accomplished once I let the last arrow loose. I wonder what it was like on the gamecube...

Say what you want but the wii-U sucked. It’s not that it was a bad console it just didn’t have enough games. I bought one at launch and mariokart was all I remember

I’m surprised you didn’t mention ZombiU. That game has one of the best uses for the gamepad. I know it’s not really a Nintendo game, but it was made specifically for the Wii U

Honestly I should have. I just heard terrible things about it so I skipped over it. But looking it up online, there are some good reviews on it.

@@DelXeno I have played the game and it’s pretty good. The Wii U version of the game is by far the best way to play it since it’s what it was designed for. It’s not the greatest game of all time or anything, but it’s super unique in how it uses the gamepad to enhance the horror genre. I highly recommend it just for that alone and this is coming from a guy that doesn’t even really like horror games

ZombiU was launched at the worst time in an oversaturated market for zombie games at the time. Resident Evil Operation Racoon City was the final nail.
