Beautiful. Probably my favourite Skinner tune. ❤😅
@fingalcromar952 ай бұрын
Hello, sorry its not a Skinner tune. It was written in Ireland by a Scotsman called Hugh McPeak. The melody is based on an old Scottish Song called "The Braes of Balquidder."

This is one happy boy here. Just learned the basic tune and now after hear how it's supposed to be played proper, I might as well just break my fiddle in half. Just lovely tune and you played it so beautiful. Hats off to ya.

Wow! I have been searching for years after hearing someone play this on a celtic drum in a wee bar in Stornoway where people used to turn up with instruments and just jam. Even though it has taken another few years listening to many many versions I have finally found yours which you performed in the same haunting manner as it was that night many years ago when it captured my heart and I thank you sir for such a beautiful rendition which is now in my favourites ♥️

Wow ... Absolutely stunning! We decided to use this as our wedding song ❤️ do you have a recommendation for where to find the right sheet music? Cheers
@fingalcromar95Ай бұрын
@julietterose4399 I'm afraid I improvised this off the top of my head so there's not any sheet music. A half decent player should be able to pick it up by ear and the basic melody should be easy to find o line. It was written by a Scotsman who was in Ireland at the time bit the melody is based on "The Braes of Balquidder" which is an old Scottish song.

Done quite a few Heather but not on this tune. However if you have a look at one of the workshops on playing slow airs it'll give you a fair idea of how I approach slow tunes. Will give you a link. All the best, Paul.
