*LYRICS - Wild Mountain Thyme* ------------ O, the summertime is comin' And the trees are sweetly bloomin' And the wild mountain thyme Grows around the bloomin' heather Will you go, lassie, go? And we'll go together To pluck wild mountain thyme All around the bloomin' heather Will you go, lassie, go? I will build my love a bower* Near yon pure crystal fountain And on it I will place All the flowers of the mountain Will you go, lassie, go? And we'll all go together To pluck wild mountain thyme All around the bloomin' heather Will you go, lassie, go? If my true love, she were gone I would surely find another Where the wild mountain thyme Grows around the blooming heather Will you go, lassie, go? And we'll go together To pluck wild mountain thyme All around the bloomin' heather Will you go, lassie, go? Will you go, lassie, go? Will you go, lassie, will you go? * Bower - a leafy shelter like the one behind Emmett at 1:46 Turn on captions (CC) to see the lyrics on screen Album: My Ozark Mountain Home

Well, isn't that just the sweetest song. And so delicately performed. Katie's traditional intro, Matt's calming voice, the spot on harmonies by Ellen and Julz, Emmett's magical dobro, Karen's tasteful bass playing, the attention given to the colors, the gorgeous backdrop and the great audio. In other words, another trademark Petersens video. If it had a blue sky and a funny outro it would have been totally perfect😉, but stunning job guys.

Well, we're all still singing this song here in Scotland, in the pubs and clubs and schools and everybody in the audience has known the words from childhood and sings along in the chorus. This is a sweet version, nice and gentle, as it was meant to be sung. It's nicely enhanced by Emmet's, as always, melancholy and melodic playing.

What I feel: peace and serenity. Today no wind, no background noise, the sound is perfect. Is it real? In front of a dreamy landscape, Katie, always talented, sets the tone under the warm look of Ellen (by the way, as usual, each member of the group turns to the soloist with a knowing and benevolent smile). And then the presentation is judicious: Matt, harmoniously accompanied, has really the voice for this song; Katie and Emmet frame perfectly our vocal trio and finally mother Karen, always in the background, who brings with her touch the indispensable tempo necessary to the whole. One word for this remarkable adaptation: thank you

Hi guys, but are you sure you don't have Irish origins? Every song that comes from those lands you make it incredibly fantastic! Matt's voice is absolutely perfect in this song. Indeed, everything is absolutely perfect: Katie's fiddle, Ellen and Julianne's harmonies, Emmet's dobro and then mum who gives a bass line and marks the time as only she can do. And finally, the location is a real dream. In short, it is another true masterpiece of yours. Thanks as always, Roberto. 🙏❤

Every single member of The Petersens is great, and has a great amount of talent! In this video, Matt's singing is great. I'm of Irish descent on my Dad's side, and I have always been drawn to this song. Finally, I want to add that at the beginning, Ellen's expressions looking at Katie while playing the violin says it all - Katie plays with unbelievable talent and ability, but also with all her heart - which is what sets Katie above 99% of musicians and singers out there...

your music started out great and magically still gets sweeter, you could perform many different genres of music, but imho your ''Wild Mountain Thyme'' is as close to perfection as it gets ... and it even makes me nostalgic for places i ve seldom been

Thank you for the beautiful song! 🎶🎶🎶My great-grandma journeyed from Scotland to the U.S. on a ship when she was just a teenager. I always love your choice of songs. You all are the BEST! I wish you could put a different song on KZbin everyday! 😁🌄 You bring so much joy into our days! I'm still waiting on "Red River Valley!"...
