If I had that kind of cash, it wouldn't be the Jordan I'd buy. I would like a mid grade at some point, but not at those prices. Mantle, Aaron, Jackie, Koufax, Ted... that's where it's at for me.

I remember back in my middle school years, 97’-98 , being over a friends and basketball teammate of mine, showing me 9 of these cards in a sleeved binder. Didn’t think too much of it at the time being from the East Coast and a Celtics fan. I think about it every now and then and wonder their fate.

You should take a deep dive into the grading of the jordan rookie sometime. You will find beautiful cards in each grade. The grading is ALL over the place. I've seen PSA 4s that look like 10s and PSA 10s that look like 6s. I would not touch a PSA 10 of this card for more than 50k. That's where I think it settles.

What cards today are going to really blow up or have the potential to blow up? What cards have the highest ceiling. What cards should we have invested in 10-20 years ago? Seems there are so many autos, patches, refractors, foil etc. cards that its hard to pick.

I believe the 10k "sale" (counterfeit slab) was pulled from ebay, so it's funny seeing that among the PSA results. Also, the 130k "sale" in March of this year was likely a stolen image and no transaction. Seller relisted the same image a few days later and Rick Probstein has shown off that specific certification number, in his PSA 10 Jordan collection.

I have an 86 Fleer Jordan raw that I've had for over 30 years that is probably an 8, maybe a 7. I had it all prepped and ready to submit to PSA a couple years ago right before they stopped accepting submissions. Needless to say, I haven't touched it since then.

There are so many shady things associated with PWCC i don't trust what they sell and don't support whoever promotes them. I think the Jordan holds in the $90k-$140k range.

From what I see in the current market - for the more common cards with a fair bit of auctions available (say a Lebron rookie psa 10), you will continue to see a steady drop in value, as folks won’t bid as highly given the down market and the fact they know they can just go for the next one when it comes up. But we have to remember that Covid gave us a LOT more collectors. For that reason, I think rare cards that you don’t see often (maybe one auction per every couple of years), won’t lose nearly as much value (or even gain value). Since I only collect Rickey - at least that’s what I’m seeing in his cards. The low numbered refractors from his playing days are catching very high prices when they come available.

Guns up Swoopes. Sorry that's why to many numbers for me. Crazy the fluctuation of that card. I can remember going to a card shop in Lubbock in the mid 90s and talking a friend into buying a pack. He was freaking out, he was shaking when he opened it. Didn't pull the rc think he got the Ewing and maybe a Bird. The packs were 125. Funny part was we talked him into a second one, he got the Jordan sticker out of it. Unfortunately my friend passed away to young but he did have 2 Jordan's in his collection.

I think the PSA 10 Jordan will definitely keep going down. The right value in my opinion for it considering what I feel the pop counts will be in a few more years should be around 25k - 30k

If a 10 were 25k, that would put the 9 around 5k, using similar/consistent multiples from values in previous years. That’s just not happening. There are too many buyers who’d pay way more than 5k for a 9 or 25k for a 10.

As someone said maybe the $10k Jordan was fake, but it’s clearly way off center to be a 10. Be interesting to track the serial numbers of the highest sales and see if they came back on market and what they sold for. 😮

My guess would the floor is somewhere around 100k. I suppose macroeconomics might effect the price over the next couple of years. The answer of course is nobody knows. There are a couple hundred 10s and maybe a thousand people whom could afford such a card that are interested. It's a small market nobody can bust out the graph & predict.

I could see paying a couple grand for one if it was really important to you, but at some point this card and several others has this lottery ticket quality.

Jordan actually might pass sometime this year, at age 60 in 2023. Whoever might do that, fr33m@s0ns, certain jews orders. I'm not sure. That would obviously pump up his card prices, but buy how much? 6x?
