DreamWorks was born from all the artists who ran away from Disney. The creator of the wild robot made Lilo and Stich and Beauty and the Beast. Then he did how to train your dragon at DreamWorks. SKG (Spielberg, Katzenberg and Geffen wanted to do a company that could fight the modus operandi of Disney, which eats everything without giving credit to the artists)

As an elementary school librarian, I'm so happy to see this book turned into a movie. The reason it has multiple endings was because they tried to fit two books into this movie. And there are multiple jumps in the books to speed up the story. It's a book for early chapter book readers, and you have to make sure they are entertained every moment to keep them reading. Hope this clears things up. Can't wait to see it!!

@@ThePonderer Now I get to be that guy that says I didn't much care for Puss 2. Panic attacks and choppy animations that make my eyes hurt were a solid recipe for "meh." I also showed it to family and they didn't much care for it. I've made the argument that it's very "millennial focused" and "relatable" with the panic attacks. Which is weird considering panic attacks weren't the norm 20 years ago.

I am currently attending a small town college (when I say small I mean there is no Starbucks here) but we do have a movie theater, and because there isn’t much to do here we all go watch movies. It’s a small theater with one screen and maybe about 10 rows of seats and they only play one movie a week. But it’s one of the best places in the world, I can’t wait till this movie comes to my theater!

Dreamworks are the absolute masters of light and shadows in their animation. The story was lovely and made me cry more than once. And the voiceover work was just perfection. I just got out of this movie with my sister and we both loved it! I felt similarly to Alan about the pacing but it's hardly a detractor to how beautiful and curious the film is. The phrase "every frame a painting" is often used to emphasize the importance of utilizing the visual medium to its fullest but I swear there are hundreds of frames in this movie that could be paintings with how maticulously crafted they are.

I saw it today with my girlfriend and my son(7). I'm not a crier. We all cried. There are some moments in this movie that hit so hard as a parent, especially a (technically)single parent, that I couldn't help it. Parenting, found family, selflessness, community, this movie hit it all. Also, to second Alan's point, the possum family was a much needed bit of dark humor and levity.

I saw this movie the second time last night. It's beautiful, sweet and wholesome, and innocent. The music as a whole was great, it has a full soundtrack. The art style was a gorgeous mix of traditional and cgi style and the voice acting was on point. I love how Roz changes in bothed the way she talks and moves the more human she became. I struggle with deep depression, I don't see much light in life but this movie I couldn't pull my eyes away from. For the first time in years, media made me feel something good again. It put me in a much brighter mood and for once I genuinely felt happy. Most media feels so empty and like a cash grab, even if entertaining but this felt like something from the heart. A passion project.

Hi Guys! I 100% burzillion % agree with Wild Robot being in the top tier of Dreamworks films. Love the impressionist with realism lens is so spot on, and the color and lighting so beautiful. I'm not a teary movie goer, but I really had to fight not to cry in this one. It's so good at touching your soul and has so many good themes and points. I love the quiet but persistent environmental throughline in the story. It totally speaks to you even if you haven't been a parent, or wanted to but don't forsee it happening, or if you are a parent, and those aren't the only relationship types it delves into. I think Wild Robot is my movie of the year for 2024. Thank-you your thoughtful and thorough reviews. Hayley ^_^

I wanted to circle back to this video just now to thank you and your behind-the-scenes crew for having reviewed this movie! ❤️ My partner and I went to the movies tonight as the central date night plan to celebrate his 46th birthday. With the cost for two people going to a movie theater nowadays easily costing $50-ish (after soda & snacks) and this one costing around $100 because it was an IPIC theater, we needed to choose only one movie to go see until at least next year. "Wild Robot" wouldn't have even been on our radar if it hadn't been for your KZbin review of it! We hadn't heard anything about it before your review. It definitely wouldn't have won as our choice if it hadn't been for just how glowing your recommendation was, either! It only narrowly beat out "Heretic" as our choice, after a lot of deliberation. We both loved it! Such a cute film! 😄 There were some great surprise details in it, too! And, emotionally, it moved both of us to tears! More than once. Thank you so much for your channel's huge role in "Wild Robot" having been our movie choice for his special day! 💖

This is the first movie in a long time that ever made me cry. "Surprising" is the word I would describe for this film, mostly because I had no idea what I was getting into. I agree with Alan that there were some pacing issues, so I never knew when the movie was actually over. I disagree with being a film I'd watch over and over, only because it hit me in the gut with so many emotions, and it could feel too overwhelming at times.

I had the chance to work on a DreamWorks movie once (I was not AT DreamWorks directly, they had sent the production in our studio in Montreal). The Captain Underpants movie. To this day it's still one of the greatest experience I've had in the animation industry. I'm a set modeler and a layout artist (here, layout (or previz), is for camera work, not making the background... that would be an environment artist or a set modeler, depending on the prod!). I hope they continue to develop great projects, when it's good, it's SO good! I don't mind the cashgrab they make on the side though... after all, it's probably what pays for developing original great stories at the same time! By the way, if you ever want to talk about the production side of 3d animation, I'd love to be part of that! I've been working in the industry for 14 years and am very passionate about it!

I recall watching the teaser for it when it came out and the one thing that caught my eye was the animation of this movie will play out and the rendition of “What a Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong. Now that I’ve watched the movie today, it was way more than I could ever ask for. Because of my nature enthusiast trait, I knew that it would affect me but I never thought it would hit very deeply, especially when approaching to the climax. I should’ve watch this tonight but I had to improvise due to the options that were given to me. Nevertheless, I enjoyed every second of it and I would agree that this is Dreamworks’ finest movie yet. For those of you who haven’t seen it, do it now or the day after. It’s better that way. Trust me.

I think I cried either the entire movie or in bits like 3-4 times. I love the strong sense of community, even if you don’t like them, you’ll still help.

My future sister-in0law and I both got teary-eyed seeing the trailer for this movie in theater! It really does seem so healing for some reason (and I really need this in my life rn)! We definitely want to see it! So happy you guys thought so highly of it! That's awesome! I can't wait to see it!

I wasn't expecting much from this movie when I went to go see it, and I was utterly blown away. The trailers felt like a story I had seen before, and it a way it is, it's a good way. There is a reason why we tell these sorts of stories. It's a story we know because it's a real story, and this is telling it with all of the heart and all the talent.

Amazing film. I cried a couple times. Watched it with my daughters, age 7 and 4. The 4 year old was crying a lot throughout the end due to the emotional elements... (she is the type of kid who will cry if she hears a sad song/beautiful classical music). We had a lot of discussion afterward!

I think when Dreamworks really nails it they out-Disney Disney and it sounds like this film is in that category. Will pay the $$ to go see it.

I love animation and animals, as an animal mom this really struck me. I'm so glad I brought as many tissues as I did because I was definitely crying throughout. I'd recommend it to everyone but have to wait to see it again myself. The score really stood out to me as well! A poorly timed instrumental or lacking one could really make a movie underwhelming, but this one brought out so much energy!

Just got back from watching the movie with my mother. She doesn't often take animation seriously, but she said she absolutely loved it. She didn't say but I think she got teary eyed at a few points in the movie, which doesn't happen often for her. I got to have a lovely experience going to see it with her, so it's already up there for me as far as Dreamworks and general animated films go.

SPOILER: As an adoptive parent, there were several teachable moments that my son and I discussed. The layer for parents about the difficulty of doing our best not always feeling good enough is also well done. I agree with the pacing bit but the book is similar. For those that like movies to be EXACTLY like the book, be ready but the changes that were made aren't unforgivable.

Called my friend and went to see it. We both cried multiple times and discussed it on the bike ride home. Absolutely loved it!

I knew about the book, i only read a sample, but this movie is amazing. Third time i almost cried and i really cried at ine moment. I was pleasantly surprised that there weren't any dumb jokes and the movie didn't shy away from the theme of death, that's not something you see in most movies for kids. Even the talking animals made sense since Roz learned how they communicate! Sadly i was alone in the cinema.
