It's starting to feel a lot more like spring in the Berkshires. Flowers are budding, sun is shining, and the rivers are roaring. I spend a lot of time with family during lock down and also a lot of time in nature and on tiny adventures with my two closest friends.

Hope you guys enjoy this one! Wanted to let you know that most of this was filmed in early April before things with the pandemic were where they are now. We were minimizing human contact as much as possible and most people hadn't even started wearing masks in public where we live. Hope you all are staying healthy! As always, you can support this channel on Patreon or through grabbing merch at the links in the description! Have a beautiful day!

Kyle- I am a 66 y/o retired lawyer, and I have just figured out how to make public comments here on KZbin. I have watched your channel for several months, but until someone helped me, I could not reach out. I really enjoy your videos, and if I could redo many things in life, I would approach things as you are doing. Your fishing with your Mom are moments that will fly by, and before you know it, memories will be revived when you watch this again. In particular, I wanted to mention your observation about working on the little things that nag at us each day. Well, this weekend, I bought a miter saw, and am finally going to make that work bench I always wanted. I’ll finally buy a vise, and a grinder to sharpen my lawn mower blade. I had the same feelings as you mention. I am finally on my way to fixing things that have been left unattended for so long, because of my career. Thank you. And keep the videos coming. I enjoy them very much, and they make me reflect on my youth.

Kyle i know you probably won’t see this but i’m a 14 year old kid that i don’t think should relate to the ending as much as i did. that freedom feeling that you get from little adventures is always one of the best you can obtain. i grew up in northern california right by the coast in crescent city, town of the redwoods, i’ve lived there all my life until three or four years ago when i moved to auburn. it changed my life greatly and i’ve been deeply homesick. i’ve been very stressed with school and social media and a whole ranch i have to help take care of. it’s hard to escape on a property like this, but your videos have helped me greatly, i think i maybe started watching your videos a year ago? (and yes i know it isn’t long) but your videos have always reminded me of the adventures that me my mom and sister would take in the redwoods and on the beach, through the beautiful rivers we used to swim in. your videos give me a sense of calm that i had when i was younger, i just want to say thank you Kyle, you’ve helped me and my mental health slowly get better. keep on doing the things you do and enjoy them, because every little thing counts ❤️

beetown music? Keep doing your best and take as many adventures as possible, even if they seem a little risky. Easy won’t always get you the good things but do what you love. Sounds like taking care of that ranch is a lot. At your age, you’re more apt to doing it than anybody else. I’ll make sure Kyle sees this, if that’s the very least I can do. Good-luck, brother.

Hi Kyle from the UK 🇬🇧 another awesome video to lighten our lockdown mood here 😀 The wife and I were at stop lights a few weeks back when a bolt of lightning landed the field right next to us. The noise was deafening and the hairs on our next stood out. Very scary. We looked at where the bolt landed over the hedge and we could see a small electricity sub station so that’s obviously what the lightening had hit. Thanks again for the great videos we look forward to them I can assure you. Stay safe. Dave.

Just this year we had a crazy hailstorm which is vey unusual for Ireland. I was in my wife’s parents house looking out at a hillside and there is a cell phone tower there. And wham! Lightning strike right at the spot I was looking at, maybe 500 meters away. I had a spot in front of my eyes for about 10 seconds, like I looked directly at a camera flash. It was an amazing sight to see the raw power of nature.

Good Morning Kyle, it's Sunday morning, the sun is bright and I see a few more feet of snow disappearing from my yard. Then, I make my New England coffee and sit in my recliner and brace myself for an adventure while wearing my Mayfly hat. You don't disappoint at all. This video brought back many memories of my youth when doing the same things with my friends. It seems a lifetime between Sundays when I can go on these trips with you and your friends. The one special part of this video is, when your mother asked if you wanted to go fishing, I think that is very special. Take care Kyle and thank you for sharing.

My grandmother 's friend was struck by lightning three separate times in his life. Survived all three. I came incredibly close to being struck in our driveway. All 25 inches of my hair stood straight up in the air and stayed there. Every hair on my body went up and I felt like there were a million tiny bumblebees humming inside of my body. I RAN like hell into the house. Glad I did. Thor had is eye on me that day.⚡⚡

The lightning... yes, a great storm came off the gulf and the lightning was tremendous. At the back of the house we had a large open field. We had a large undercover awning on the house that we could sit under safely to watch the storms. The four of us, me my wife and our two little girls were sitting there when we had a direct strike in the field, no more than five hundred feet away... the power we truly awesome and took our breath away. We went inside. Good memories... thanks

Agreed on the dealing with the little things you want to avoid. This morning I spent hours scrubbing down all the windows and sliding doors for this very reason. They’d gotten out of hand and it normally would have taken 20 minutes. Now I can clearly see the beautiful Florida palms and long leaf pines and it has definitely improved my mood. As for the lightning, my father was actually struck before I was born. He was fortunate to be young and healthy, so he eventually recovered. It’s absolutely gorgeous, but I’ve been taught from an early age to treat the weather with the same respect as a large wild animal. Admire from a distance. Preferably inside. Stay safe and thank you for your heartwarming and grounding videos. They are needed now more than ever. Be well.

When I was 8 years old in Auckland New Zealand me, my Mum and my dog were all sitting in the lounge while a thunderstorm was going on. Then a lighting strike hit out drive way just 2 meters away from my house and it felt like it shook the entire house. My heart was racing at that point and my dog was whimpering. The sensation of the lighting strike was unreal and it’s hard to explain.

The lightening is absolutely marvellous. This has happened multiple times with me. The first one is quite vivid. I was in 7th grade and lighting struck on the boundary of our school across the field. I was watching from my classroom. The tree caught fire. Surreal. Once recently it happened on a road trip, in an open field like yours. That sensation, right through the body.

Lightning is powerful and my closest encounter was on Percy Priest Lake near Nashville Tennessee. My archery club was having our biggest tournament of the year at Long Hunter state park. The tournament was over and we were pulling the 3D targets when a severe thunder storm moved in. I told my friends that we needed to squat and cover our heads and as soon as we did lightening hit the lake 50 yards from us. I lost my balance and touched the ground and felt the voltage run up my arm. It was like sticking your finger in a light socket. The boom was immediate and deafening and my ears rang the rest of the day. The smell of ozone was strong. We were very lucky.

Last July my girlfriend and I traveled across the US for the whole month coming from Ireland it was a once in a life time trip. We went from East to West but stopped off at some southern stops too .. somewhere between Louisiana and Texas we stopped at a camp site for the night when a few kilometres down the road we could hear a thunder storm and the amazing lightning that followed. We sat by the side of a pond that was in at the camp site and just watched it in awe. I managed to get some amazing photographs on my phone of the lightning mid fork! I can send them to you in instagram if you'd like to see! It was an unforgettable moment in the best month of my life so far. Keep up the amazing work! Your content is honest and pure. Thank you!

We were driving west on I-40 in Oklahoma when lightning struck the road about 200 yards ahead of us. Upon striking the highway, a huge shower of sparks flew up, and, it was a jarring moment on several levels. It took our breath away to see such a beautiful, violent, and potentially deadly event. Btw, I super-duper enjoyed this video. You have the true storytelling gift. And, there's just something about doing the cool stuff that we did as kids that brings back that magical feeling and thinking and believing.

So glad I caught up with you ' Damn Good Kid ' ....happy to have caught up with what's happening....it sounds like it's all good. I am really glad that you've touched base with Karl...think he's happy and know from your face when you were on the call with him that you are too. If you speak to him sometimes about his plans for the future or if he ever mentions his dogs and that he thinks or worries about their future sometime, please let him know there is a dog lover out in your followers who'd be happy to talk to him about them....but just make sure that he brings up the situation, which I know you would know how to handle it. Sometimes I think that I have to take extra good care of myself because of my 2 little rescues ( the half chihuahua and my beagle)....who would take care of them if something happened to me?! I'm just glad he's not as alone as it appeared at the beginning:) Love your videos, so glad you're back on a regular basis again....and there's something special about watching them on a Sunday morning. About the lightning story, it didn't hit me but my new husband was playing a game of rugby on a small island between the Bronx and Manhattan separated by the East River when a large lightening bolt hit the ground close to my husband and 3 other players and they were all thrown to the ground. They were kind of in shock but nothing serious....it was very close a matter of yards and they were all quite shocked and took them some time to be able to get up. Scary stuff. Have to enjoy everyday.

I will never forget my close encounter with lightning. I was a kid at summer camp up in Michigan called camp amigo. We were eating snacks under a sheltered picnic area in the middle of the camp. It was raining pretty hard, but there hadn't been any lightning, so it was a big scare when lightning struck the biggest tree in the area, which was just twenty feet away. We booked it to the basement of the gymnasium and the camp councilors sang songs to keep our spirits up. I can't remember if we spent the night down there or not. The next morning I remember the camp councilors gathering us around outside the main office where they had hung up a large chunk of the tree the lightning had sheared off. The piece had to be at least five feet long and a good half foot thick.

My mother and father were going on a mountain trip way before I was born, when right in front of their bumper a huge thunder lightened the scenery, almost hiting the car. They always talk about it on stormy nights.

Ahhhhh. That jump into the water.. I felt that. 😬 love it as always, Kyle! Can’t put into words what it feels like to see you chasing your dream and living your authentic self. I remember a time when I was four years old or so and I saw a lightening strike in the field next to our house on Happy Valley Road in Washington. I’ll never forget that experience. Much love ✌🏼, Nate

When I was maybe 11 or 12, I was outside on a summer afternoon shooting some hoops in our neighbors driveway. Just like any North Carolina summer afternoon, distant storm clouds painted the horizon - the telltale sign of a quick midday rain. But I wanted to shoot around so I went out. After maybe 15 or so minutes, the clouds really rolled in and a light drizzle started dotting the dry pavement - faint rumblings of thunder mixed in with my continued dribbling. Then it happened. BOOM! The brightness of the flash outweighed by the instantaneous shock of the thunder clap. I have no idea where the bolt struck but I remember my hair standing on end, my heart racing, ears ringing as I ran to the safety of the carport. Not sure I played in many more storms that summer.

My sisters, their children, myself and my children were on a tram at Grant’s Farm. Lightning struck a tree close enough that a piece of the bark hit my then 8 year old daughter. There was a rumble, a bright flash, then the ground shook. Immediately we could feel the hair standing up on our arms, and we could not hear for a few minutes. The tram was full but no one moved or said anything until the driver came on and said, “Well, that was close.” The sky was overcast, but no dark clouds. It has been over 20 years ago, but we all remember it like it was yesterday. Definitely humbling.

When I was young, I remember sitting in my living room watching the rain patter down in a storm. A bright flash of lightning shined through the window followed by a loud clap of thunder just milliseconds after. I jumped out of my seat and the hairs on my arms stood up. My heart pounded with a rush of energy. I had never felt anything like it before...It turns out the lightning strike hit the neighbour's antenna and burned through the roof. Thanks for sharing your stories - they bring a sense of peace and nostalgia.

I was 15, and my class and I were playing rugby during PE. A quick thunder shower passing through and lighting struck a poll at the tennis court near by. As it hit the electric shock traveled through the field and we all fell to the floor. Scary experience but we were all ok.

My lightening experience- I was gonna go on a hike during a brief stay in Boulder, Colorado. As I got to the parking lot, it started pouring rain, so I decided to drive the rental Jeep 4X4 to the top of the trail anyway to see the view. The weather got violent quick. At the top of the trail on the Flatirons as the thunder crashed, LIGHTENING STRUCK, not 50 feet from the Jeep. I quickly put it in drive and high-tailed it down the mountain. I suppose the elevation of Colorado contributes to the frequency of lightening strikes there. It was scary as hell but also neat to get that close to something so powerful.

I was on a 9-hole golf course in Lead, S.D. with a friend, we were 14. Started raining, we were on the #6 green , when lightning hit a power pole 20' away. The hair on my head stood straight up and the noise was so intense. We dropped our putters and ran to the clubhouse.
