The Wild Turkey Flock: Tom and his Wingman (Goose) are teaching a Jake about hens

The Wild Turkey Flock comes Strutting into feed. Tom the Gobbler Turkey and his Wingman bring a Jake and Bearded Hen's girls into the Spruce Tree feeding zone. They eat and then retreat to the gravel road for grit. The nales stand guard for the females. They Strut and Drag their wings while these breeding hens finish their meal. The entire time the Jake watches and learns his role in the flock.

Happy you enjoyed it Kirby! I think they moved the area they will nest to that thick area of swampy trees, the neihboor down the roads dogs are a menace...always getting loose. Anyhow, I believe the breeding hens are laying their eggs in that area cross the street, probably safer in there than in the field!

@campingintheforest_ agreed, well I hope they raise many young safely. Like I stated, I hunt them but absolutely love these birds if one can understand that?

yes, I can anyhow..althoughI don't hunt them. I do hunt, I don't hunt locally...I spend too much time with these animals...would not be fair. ​Also I look at hunting as a harvest, in times of starvation...sure I would. In the old days most people on this continent hunted. I do believe the animals can smell a hunter differently than a watcher...!Good day buddy! @kirbyharrold9
