Friends just make sure you always check what dishes or any item you find and make sure it isn't something that is worth a lot if money or that is really old... Thats if anyone cares.. I have found some really cool stuff. Then again I collect so much, thank goodness i have a shed, attic and basement.

@@joanwallace1373 That is frustrating. We live on a thru street so I've had quite a few bicycles stolen, but the pot saucers- I broke them in half and used the sharp flat end to poke in the dirt; and they would have been useless for anyone to steal.

Love the double pink one with gold flake on the edges. Its awesome and my faviorite ! The ring planters are really cool too ! The mushrooms are so cute. I love them too. My great granddaughter would love the sunflower glass. Sunflowers are her faviorite flower. I made her a three piece journal set a couple of years ago for her birthday that Washington full of sunflowers. She loved it !!

Another great video from Hometalk. After reading a few comments, it looks like there’s a bunch of hoarders out there that think it’s terrible to break up dishes even if they are unusable. I don’t understand why they watch these if it bothers them to do it.🙃 Great ideas, keep them coming. 😊

Why were the dishes and cups 'unusable? You don't have to be a hoarder to be reluctant to smash a delicate, beautiful cup or plate. Why not donate to Goodwill or another nonprofit?

you need to apply food safe sealer on decals put onto utensils or decal will come of with your gravy

It looks like they used Mod Podge. I don’t see why you couldn’t use any acrylic sealer.

They make a Mod Podge that is dishwasher safe. Just be sure to let it cure according to the instructions. I went longer than it says to do because I wanted that extra time just to be sure it would I wouldn’t loose my design when washing and it really does work.

You don't want to be eating or drinking off of any of these! Almost every one of these ideas is NOT food safe.

Yes they can be. If you bake the color pieces or use the dishwasher safe Mod Podge, all are safe to eat on. If you use a clear piece of dish-ware, do it on the back. I have several sets of dishes that I have designed for different occasions without any problems. However, my guests died after they ate on them. I’m just kidding. If you use a sealer, make sure that sealer is FOOD SAFE because most of them are not. Good luck and I hope this helps.

I find it intriguing that Dollar Tree stores in areas other than mine have such great stuff to work with. The ones within a 5 mile radius of my home have nothing like the items I see being used in DIY tips, decorating tips or the monthly featured what's to buy this month. Actually 2 of the nearby stores always look like a tornado when through them every time I go in and then I just leave its so filthy and disheveled I don't want to shop there the others just have the same old same old week after week. But, I still like watching the vids to get ideas just have to shop harder to find interesting stuff. By the way I live in the 6 largest city in the US. So sad the sotres near me suck.
