Well this is a pretty "WILD" theory I dunno if they are going to use it in this game but I do hope capcom elaborates on this concept the funny building bug is close but its not a cyborg like the equal dragon weapon.

Nah, i don't think they're actively building anything. In one of the trailers, or the demo, one of the forbidden lands people is absolutely amazed that you're not only able to hold your own against a monster, but slay it. Slaying monsters to these people is just completely unheard of. So I'd have to say no it's not being actively made. But i do believe we are gonna get a huge lore dump on the ancient civilization in this one. I so badly hope we do. And the EDW wouldn't be too far off the mark of a good boss or semi boss.

If anything there's been a secret society of keepers in this place and they have monsters in basically a cryo hibernation of sorts and something went totally wrong and the chain monster got out which since it probably killed a bunch of the keepers, lots of others are gonna start coming out now.

@@Jake-ky4yj that was my point lol, I don’t think the actual groups of society’s that we see in the trailer are apart of anything, and they seem pretty friendly. My theory was that there IS a secret society unknown to everyone, and the guild. Who will be revealed with clues throughout the story of the game👍🏻:) Edit: I’m trippin I read ur comment wrong lol, but that’s lowkey a good point. Its possible that a secret society brought back extinct monsters SOMEHOW, whether it being splicing DNA or some sort, and keeping them hidden in a Cryo chamber, then then escaping and being revealed/released into the surrounding area.

Ahtal Ka will be the closest EDW we got, otherwise it'll become a way too crazy playing god naration. More appropriate to be included in Stories/spin off instead. Exploring ancient civilization are the more plausible one.

I have yet to play any of the stories games, but them having modified monsters (the EX monsters) I think would open a chance for the EDW to be implemented. But then again, I’m pretty sure Stories is supposed to be more of a friendly-family game like Pokemon so I don’t think it would get THAT dark 😅

Very, but idk we have many many fish monsters already so who knows it could still be possible. (Plesioth, Jyuratodus, Lavasioth, Beotodus, and Cephadrome (I think?), and then all their subspecies.

I like your theory, but I personally think it's never going to appear in a main line game. As far as I am concerned, the only chance for it becoming a thing is in a spinoff game.

As long as we get to see the EDW in a game, whether it being the main plot or just an Easter egg in the background hidden in some random locale, I would be so happy 🙏🏻

nah, its not gonna be the actual EDW, a company licensing something that has a spotlight shone on it suddenly is pretty normal, but probably a repurposed idea. Given the hints from the leaks, the rest seems to somewhat match up tho. Some kind of big artificial monster, created a long time ago and the ancestors that created all the old technology (or rather the remnants) are what is causing the lands to be so chaotic compared to the rest of the world

@@Deid I haven’t really checked the leaks since I wanna be blindly as possible to the game as much as I can since I’m excited ash, but I think it’s def possible that the EDW is real, considering it’s been told by the hunters guild that The Forbidden lands have been uninhabited for nearly 1000 years, so that’s plenty of time for a creation of the EDW and for locales to undergo unusual development. :) thanks again for watching the vid 🙏🏻

Was it actually confirmed that the Equal Dragon Weapon is non-canon? Where was that ever said? I'm genuinely curious. I feel like people just write it off as non-canon because they don't like it. I haven't seen a single person link back to an article or interview where a MHdev said it wasn't canon...

@@DJFlare84 Okay so I guess the reason majority picture it as “NON-CANON” is because Monster Hunter Illustrations are just books of concept/scrapped art, and that was the only ever mention of the EDW so people just assume it’s non-canon and will never be implemented into a game. Which I think is absolute bs, considering they have used some past scrapped designs like a decade after making it, so it’s just because majority people say it was in a concept book meaning it’s non-canon to them. 🤷🏻

@@wowpedia_ good point, I assume that’s the way most people see it as too which I totally agree, but I do love theories and digging deep into like lore with possible connections to mainline so I just assume the best I can 😅
