Nintendo will not admit indirectly that their games looked worst vs now looking “better” . They have done things differently lately like having actual sales in the Nintendo shop but it’s still Nintendo here they are very much prideful and want to seperate themselves from the trending console competition conversations. I doubt they put themselves in a situation where they will have to answer to specific comparison like that with other console brands. They rather us focus on the games themselves

From a business perspective, I can see an announcement being soon. Right now we're in Japan's 4th fiscal quarter. A January or February announcement will allow them to build hype for the rest of the fiscal year. Then when their next fiscal year starts in April, they can drop a new console. Which will give them a great fiscal 2025.

Casting the full game from the Switch to the dock/TV will kill the battery life

The cast thing doesn't make much sense. It's just gonna have handheld levels of performance streaming to a TV and last 2 hours unless you plug it in, at that point just use the dock. The only instances this would be kinda cool is with DS and 3DS games or some party games that don't require much power.

'Cast' makes sense for DS/3DS/Wii U emulation..or maybe if you don't have a dock, but want to connect to a Switch 2 app on a TV...but not much else. I mean, if you're in the same room as your dock...why on earth would you want to cast a lower quality image to your tv, instead of just docking it? I think [c] will either be to activate a camera peripheral that plugs into the top of the Switch 2 or maybe a dedicated button to center the gyro(as most gyro based games do use a button for that purpose).

Yeah but you gotta remember this is Nintendo. They would NEVER publish an app for TVs they don't control. Crazy enough they made phone apps, but they had to. It's a lot easier to control the experience if the cast sends to a dock - more RAM for buffering, and they don't have to use local wireless or the LAN, they can use the proprietary format they made for the Wii U - as long as they got the range to at least double in the last decade, it'll be awesome.

​@@remakeyourself Biggest problem(either way), is the Wii U was streaming from a mains powered home console to a 'dumb' tablet. The Switch 2 in handheld mode, would have to both run the game natively and stream it....the battery drain would increase massively(and Nintendo aren't know for being overly generous with their battery power as is). I think it's highly unlikely. The dock is there so you don't need to cast.
