After having done all my previous astrophotography with a DSLR or mirrorless camera, my first scope ever arrived today - the FLT 91. A big part of my decision to go with this was your review, Glenn. Thanks for sharing. Looks like I have several nights of lousy weather coming, but I look forward to that first clear night.

Really glad it helped (even if I cringe at the quality of this early video 😂)

Congratulations on buying the FLT-91. I bought mine just about a year ago and I am very happy with the purchase. WO quality tip to tip, I am sure you will be very happy. I also have the ASIAIR Plus, the ZWO 120 mini, and a ZWO183MC Pro. My next purchase will be the EAF and eventually the Flatner. As you mentioned the rotator is awesome, it works great with the new Atlas enhancement from ZWO for the ASIAir. I look forward to seeing your results. Focusing has been the biggest frustration, so the EAF is the next buy for me. I think it was a wise move to get with the scope. Good Luck!

The EAF was great before, but now that I have an EFW (see other vids) it is freakin awesome!

Hi, Great video, just received my WO 91 yesterday so this video and the video's on the Flattener and installing EAF were excellent (I wouldn't;t have known about removing the grub screws from the temp knob without it). Many thanks

Hello, I want to ask if there is a way to remove the dew shield of the FLT91 scope? I know it can be retracted but l'm trying to remove it to be able to put it in a travel bag. Can you please share with me if that's possible and how can I do it?

Hi, if you hold the part when has then locking screw for the lens hood, you can the twist off/unscrew the white part of the lens hood and pull it off the lens. You would want to see what gets exposed by doing this so you don't introduce dust into your image train. Plus you now have the issue of the lens glass being exposed and not protected as the cap won't fit.

Very informative video! I'm seriously considering this scope as it seems like the perfect focal length for me. I'm thinking of using it with either the ASI533MC-PRO or the ASI294MC-PRO and the AM5 Mount - what do you think of this combination?

Glad you found it useful, Matthew. I only have experience with the ASI2600MC-Pro and ASI2600MM-Pro. For the 2600MC-Pro what attracted me to it was the larger image physical size and the lack of amp glow* that some other cameras can exhibit. Because I went for a decent mount (see below) and a decent scope, it made sense to me to go for the decent cam too. It's a combination I haven't regretted with the exception I wish I had gone mono from the get go. I run everything on a EQ6-R Pro mount and man do I wish the AM5 was out when I got the mount. *Yes you can amp glow that out with dark frames, but I also found that dark frames for both 2600MC and MM didn't appear to do anything for me. Others mileage may vary but I do see on the interwebs that it is a common consensus.
