Hi, Author here, This video is definitely on the erratic side, you may notice parts or chunks missing. Some of these were due to copyright issues, others due to editorial issues. It was created as an experiment and part of its nature as a "Living" docuseries is to change or be altetered over time. Although I consider this more of a failed effort than a "Good Product" there are parts that I personally enjoy and it succeeded on being released within it's timefrae.

So. Does this documentary explain whether Wonkapiercer was intentional, or at least explore the underlying themes and societal desires that pushed the two movies to align thematically, as promised in the (genuinely interesting) Part 2 video? Er... not really? From a viewer's standpoint, it seems like you wanted to make a video about yourself, your life, career aspirations, so on... and then titled it "Willy Wonka/Snowpiercer" for engagement purposes, because people wouldn't watch it if they knew what it was really about. This "documentary" is more like a self-indulgent look into you own life than any further analysis of the subject. I'm baffled by how long you waffle over your 'rivalry' with Chris Evans, your failed acting career, about viewership statistics and virality and so on. Perhaps these things would be interesting in a different context, but they're not what I signed up for when I went from the Part 2 video to this. You seem like a good guy, and I'm glad things went well for you after your earlier hardships- but being a good guy doesn't make your life more interesting than the subject matter. You can't tell viewers that they're going to watch a continuation of that crazy movie theory they liked before blathering on about your life as a nerdy theater kid, and then going through every notable highlight of your LinkedIn page. Brilliant video essaysists like hbomberguy- when they put in a personal anecdote- their experiences are only included to support their exploration of the media. Your essay here does that in reverse- Wonkapiercer is only here to loosely connect all your personal anecdotes. In the end, this video is all about YOU. When you started talking about how you were just making shit up for the original Wonkapiercer video and that some stuff didn't work for the theory because... the theory was never believable to you in the first place, and you were just making shit up on the fly, I wanted to close the video. But I was curious to see if things got better- if they would connect back around. Never did. An incredibly disappointing 2 and a half hours.

Still have another 40 minutes to go but holy hell. I saved part 3 for when I would have a few hours to spare, and I ended up having an insomnia episode so I finally started watching. I have cried five times throughout this video. This goes well beyond the standards of video essays. Videos like this are why Art matters. The emotions I have experienced in this video are some of the most visceral I have ever faced when it comes to art analysis. I genuinely want to thank you for talking about so many of my favorite films and even more so, for giving me an immense amount of inspiration to actually make some art of my own.

Oh....you've made me understand why I always loved Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (the book and the original movie!), and you're only sixteen minutes in. The idea that martyrdom actually leads to reward, like we would benefit from and have someone notice this self-sacrifice, and it would take a magical being like Willy Wonka to make that happen. I love the way this series built on itself, analyzing the influences that made the actual Snowpiercer film itself, to coming full circle and pulling in and explaining your own influences on making things, like this series itself (and 2Kawaii!) P.S. "Regardless, I'm an idiot from Massachusetts" relatable....

I will agree with everyone else that the series was genuinely so well made and was super emotional. about an hour into the part two I I no longer cared about the connection between snow piercer and willy Wonka and just focused on the twists and turns the video went on and this part felt a lot more personal and real, with a lot of relatable moments. I did not think I would get so emotional especially the parts about your dad. This was so well made and something to be extremely proud of! also i watched Memories of murder and the host before finishing part two, personally my favourite was memories of murder

Hey man i don't know if you will see this but i really want to thank you for this amazing, informative, funny, heart wrenching and incredibly personal rollercoaster ride. I love watching/listening to long form content while doing other things (in this case 3d modelling practice). But from the first minute of the 14 minute video i was unable to look away. From that point i was hooked and enjoyed every second of the full history behind snowpiercer in part 2 and all the twists and turns that came with it. You got me good and this video breaking down the exact manipulations is masterful. I have dyslexia, colour-blindness, migraines and recently suffered a major burnout. It helped me relate to your more darker moments and you should feel proud that you were willing to share them. It means a lot and reminded me to keep going forwards. I subscribed and will be, even if it takes years for another video. i'll be waiting. Until then, i'll be sharing this playlist with anyone who will listen. I hope you'll get this: Maybe you haven't turned every rhino you found into stew. But they seem to keep crossing your path, so i'm sure it will happen eventually.

The evolution of this 3 part series has transitioned from analysis > stream of consciousness > ramble. Fascinating to observe from anthropological perspective. Ultimately it becomes a trilogy content trope but under the surface level you are left with the realisation you've unwittingly been participating in someone else's catharsis. We all shared in the creators dopamine rush of putting the puzzle together one piece at time and now we've all shared in the somewhat less satisfying deconstruction of that puzzle, left with a dopamine deficit - let's remember the highs and lows of this journey though. I had a final point, but I forgot to make it. Apologies to the reader.

Not sure what it was, but I remember first encountering the part 2 after maniacally scouring this channel for more content just as I had finished seeing the first part, but something threw me off and I never went ahead and watched more than a couple of minutes. Now, an old video of an unrelated channel brought me back to it and I figured I might as well watch it, and I must say, I think naming this the willy wonka snowpiercer three parter is a disservice to the true story presented, I could've never imagined it going this route, but I'm so grateful it did. The documentary type format felt kinda odd at first, but it all made sense when I realized it wasn't really a documentary about snowpiercer or willy wonka, it was about a far richer story that I'm glad I watched. It's honestly rare to find these type of videos, the type of videos that remind you videos are a form of expression, and not just a way to showcase funny memes or wacky mishaps, I'm not really sure how to express it, but it hit me in a very oddly personal way and I just want to thank you for that; In a sense I didn't end up getting what I was looking for, but it ended up being something I will remember for far longer than just a continuation to a theory. Sorry if the comment is corny and or too long, it really caught me off guard and I needed to show my appreciation for this.

I'm here for those Red Letter Media references. You calling yourself the "Rich Evans" damn near ended me. I didn't see that coming.

This is amazing. Having you share these personal stories with us is just heartwarming. All the time I try to explain how much different pieces of media mean to me and it’s always the best feeling to have people listen. Words can’t describe how touching this whole thing is. Truly a masterpiece I hope you’re very proud of.

Thabk you for the "Previously" recap!❤ I was led to your channel during your first video on this (thanks yt algorithm for the rare suggestion that leads me to a channel I absolutely will fall in love with) and have devoured your content. But with such amazing video's l, understandably the time frame between each big masterpiece is substantial enough that the recap's and just so darn appreciative

This video made me add parasite and blind spotting to my watchlist. I gave up on the Snowpeircer show early on in season 2. Felt like they just went off the rails and were trying for shock value only.

Wow, that was an amazing 7+ hour rabbit hole. I remember watching the original WonkaPiercer video you made years ago and I was absolutely convinced it was heavily inspired by Willy Wonka and the Chocolate factory and I genuinely cannot believe that Bong Joon-Ho hasn't even seen the film. Also crazy how you managed to bump into Edgar Wright several times and also Daveed Diggs. They 100% played up to your theory in the Snowpiercer TV series clearly though which you should be proud of. Them using 'Pure Imagination' and calling the train car 'Willy's World' is definitive proof.
