OMG SAME. 12-tone Twinkle Twinkle Little Star legitimately changed how I saw music, haha.
@acidicjello196210 ай бұрын
Me too! 12-tone was a goldmine that my brain always goes back to. The video had a huge impact on me and the songs stuck with me like almost nothing else. Sometimes I even think about "party yeah it's a party woo" and what the reverse engineered version of that song would sound like.

I should really learn the parts to that. I THINK somewhere on her site there was a pdf with split parts. If not I can transcribe :) (12-tone little star, that is)

Your mathemusical videos have been my favorite thing on the internet since I was 13. It makes me so glad to see that spacetime-translated self-harmonies continue to resonate in new, pixelated forms.

OMG, how is it possible to make such a beautiful song about mosquitoes. I love this. IIt's nice how the long vibrating notes resemble the noise that mosquitoes make when flying around. It's terrifyingly good

i love this very much :) the video has a sort of bill wurtz quality in its spontaneity but purposefulness especially in the a capella thing where the little bugs appeared in sequence. so cool!!!!

Ah drat, I shall have to add autumnally infiltrating arthropods to the long list of things I feel guilty about! I already felt so guilty about stomping large quantities of box elder bugs that I was "accidentally" letting about half of those who snuck in escape my wrath. Screw those meany smelly bitey asian lady beetles though, they have no place in a civilized household and give proper ladybugs a bad name.
@kaitlyn__L10 ай бұрын
I hadn’t heard of boxelders, but it seems they’re a common beetle which sometimes gets too numerous indoors and causes problems - we have a few of those in the UK but they tend to be smaller. For instance most “moth eaten” clothes in the UK are actually eaten by the larvae of carpet beetles, whose adult form looks like a tiny brown or grey ladybeetle, sometimes with stripes rather than or in addition to spots. I felt bad about squishing a few the spiders hadn’t gotten, but a few years ago I had a huge number of holes appear in clothes, then soonafter dozens dying on the windowsills. But this year I only got two or three dying on the windowsill so it seems to have successfully disrupted their eggs. We’ll see next spring and summer though.

OK. I was not expecting to encounter this, but interesting none the less... Nice to see more from you, even if it has been a while. I can take a stop for a moment, to witness a surreal song about mosquitos, as I face the end of my 30s getting ever closer, and concerns about whether the world I have known may soon come to an end... Some of your content is odd, yet often somehow still feels more relatable than I can feel about most "normal" people (well, as one, little by little, starts to realize all the ways in which they are not "normal"...). In a way, this small detour into the surreal feels almost comforting, not sure how to describe it better. (Well, and now I probably return to my normal life of trying to debug my code and trying to twiddle some of my Verilog code to run at faster clock speeds and give better performance on an FPGA...).
