This video is so beautiful and realistic that after the first five minutes I got fatigued due to the lack of wind. Kudos for your technique. Thanks!

Love your videos ! So real ! I actually relived the feeling of going out in light wind and having to use so much energy just to punch through. Luckily you had some great waves ! Kudos for not giving up and for shredding ! (I would, so scared of the rocks,Hookipa is a scary place for me 😂) Thank you for sharing !

Had that once……straight onshore, solid 6 to 8 foot Hawaiian. . Folks visiting. Watched a complete mauling. 200 yard swims, Rig on the rocks. Worst idea ever, but was oddly fun. Alone at Hookipa. Unheard of in 1990’s. Good times!

Looked super gusty, we also get those sort of gusty conditions at our local spots too, usually when its cloudy and/or raining, it can be super frustrating at times trying to work the area and lining up with the sets coming in but you were dealing with it nicely. You had some nice smooth waves with some nice hits too and that makes it all worth it.... I can also relate to looking at a popular spot wondering why nobody else is out, I'm always wondering if I never got the memo about not going out...lol....

@kev-the-windsurfer thanks again for you comment! The challenge is why I will never get bored of Windsurfing. I don't think I will ever feel that I don't have something to learn or improve or be challenged by.

Awesome board graphics! Hookipa is a much less relaxed affair than Kanaha by the looks of it

@@koav ah ok…. There doesn’t seem to be much horizon fish eye bending that’s cool 👍

@Paul van Bellen Yes, I am removing as much of the fish eye effect as possible in post.

Dude, you obviously know the local conditions, but 4.6? Looks like maybe you could have used a size up? Be interested to get your feedback

A bigger sail would not have been any help on this day. The challenge was the super off shore winds which were gusty AF and super strong on the wave face with almost no wind on the inside of the break. I rigged for riding the waves in control.

What go pro mount do you use?

I use a simple adhesive mount on the front of my helmet.

Quite strenuous to get out with that small sail and low buoyancy. I ´d be cooked already once outside the breakin zone
