Stories always does great covers, true! But I'm especially happy about this, as I keep saying ABBA did some great songwriting, but I just can't stand the way they arrange their songs, I just can't take it... but as soon as it's ABBA without ABBA it often turns out quite beautiful as this one...

I used to think there was no way I would ever get into anything from the disco era: ABBA, BeeGees etc etc... But over the last couple of years, the more music theory I've learned, the more my palette has grown and those artists kept coming up until finally I broke down and listened. ' The Winner Takes it All' was actually the first song I heard that made me forget about that "disco sound" and see what great songwriting I had missed out on. I've been waiting for Stories to do it and as always, you guys blew my expectations away ❤✌

Disco was early techno, all club music, but the difference was in the 1970s they transition from the 1960s were songwriting was insane. So so much talent in the '70s.

Benny and Björn’s songs were way more sophisticated than most critics ever gave them credit for, and Agnetha and Anni-Fred’s chemistry was otherworldly. And the production of it all was always really clever. It wasn’t just pop music. That’s just how it was packaged.
