Chen scored 24 points against UCLA, and UCLA only beat Princeton by 3 pts, Chen does Chen things, but she's also a dog on defense. The players that left UConn were bench warmers the entire time they were there. People are sleeping on Chen the way Lou Lopez got slept on, she ended up # 5 in last year's draft. UConn lost no "top players" to the portal, period.

Winners: TCU, Oklahoma, Iowa, Maryland, LSU, and USC. Losers: the big east conference, Villanova, Michigan, Oregon State, Arkansas, Oregon, Virginia Tech.

@@apray359 Women athletes recovering from Achilles injuries have not had great outcomes unfortunately. Hopefully in the future she can eventually return to her production pre-injury but the first season returning from an Achilles rupture? I would have much lower expectations. Especially a player at her size, that is the worst injury that could have happened to her.

I don't know many athletes who came back from that type of injury. Especially if it's the leg a player uses to jump. KD was lucky his injury happed on his left leg.

An important consideration for the portal is: all students who were granted an additional year for COVID are now out. This year is the final year for that surplus. The numbers who don’t find a school should be reduced next year. The supply and demand imbalance was created by this gift of an additional year of eligibility to Covid season players. Perhaps someone has done the math on this and can graph out the coming equilibrium.

Brie is a good defender but her skill level was lacking coming in. She didn’t do anything skillfully outside of defense. Can’t just be athletic, you have to develop your skills
