Harrison: Good AHL coaching doesn't necessarily translate to success in the NHL. So Nelson may or may not be a good NHL coach. Of course if Nelson gets signed by a team and does really well, then we will feel that the Jets missed the boat. There is no guarantee though. I thought Arniel did a good job when he filled in for Bones, and I think he is a good mix of playing smart and defensively, but also flexible when things aren't working. Bones was a Frank Sinatra song, "I did it my way", regardless if that way was working or not. I agree, that I feel that the Jet's should have at least legit seriously have considered other contenders though, instead of just rubber stamping Arniel. However, I am optimistic that he will build on what Bones did but be flexible when he needs to be. The Jets need to make a firm decision on what route they want to take tough. Either build on the youth or not. If it is building on the youth, they need to let the youth play and develop as musch as they can. If not, then they need to trade the youth (for play now pieces) while they are young and still worth something. This whole process of holding on to young players and not playing them, just to let them deteriorate has got to go. Perfetti is only one example of how the jets are squandering young talent. I personally hope they really build on the youth and let them play as much as they can. However, if they are not going to, then they need to use those players as trade chips while still valuable. Often times Jets seem to be in "no man's land" in terns of what direction they are going in. Speaking of stuid moves out of Loyalty, if Ehlers gets traded just because Sheifele doesn't like playing with him, that is a huge mistake. I personally think the reason he doesn't like playing with Ehlers is because he is afraid of Ehlers making him look bad. Anyway that top line of Ehlers Sheifele and Vilardi really cooked and that line needs to be reunited long term. Just my 2 cents.

I'm cool with this move. We really don't have anything to lose with this move. I really hope we trade Ehlers and Connor for picks this year & future picks. We'll probably sign Matt Duchene, Filip Hronek & Casey DeSmith next season that will make us competitive, but I don't see us doing much next season and that's fine. Whatever happens, whether if we win next season or tank, I'm completely fine with.

Re: Ehlers - I would honestly hate to see him land on an old, slow team like Washington or NYI. He needs to run n gun like maybe Toronto or Montreal.
