Had you gone with 12.5 TITAN X there would be plenty of room for catch board, net storage etc. Not sure why you selected the tiny boat ...

Regardless of how the day goes, it beats being at work or laying on the couch! Winter fishing can be brutal yet rewarding! I’m only brining 1 rod and it’s a swimbait rod with some plastic swimbaits!

Now you have to figure out how to put the net in place so the fish doesn’t jump out. Thanks Greg!

My best friend and I went fishing at a small reservoir in Northern California some 20 years ago or so. The first day out, we absolutely slayed them. We caught more fish than we knew what to do with. That night, and the following morning, I went on and on about how we were going to slay them again and how many more we were going to catch etc etc. Not even a single bite. I'm superstitious about it now too. Never again. I set no expectations for any fishing trips now. It'll be what it is and what happens will happen.

I was watching some of your earliest videos 10yrs ago and it's amazing how much you have developed as a content creator and fisherman. You went from a small green kayak to a watercraft full of electronics and motor powered. I would like to hear some reflection on maybe something you would have done differently from the past or where you see yourself in 5 yrs? Maybe into professional bass fishing in a bass boat?

I empathize with your Winter Meter. During tournaments, we're quoting you with the confidence meter sayings (mine is usually a negative number + my math sucks!!!) "Something touched me," had us howling, sorry 😊 The keeper that you hooked came on a dropshot - I cheered! Some of the guys in my club laugh at me because I refer to my fishing gear as "stupid proof." It loosely translates to no backlash for me! Small tip while on Berryessa: there are bass around the out houses 😉 At one point, some of our club members said we're not allowed near the restrooms because we weighed in a decent bag of fish. 😂 Thank you for toughing out a day on the water for us. It's neat to see that your keepers have been eating well! Hopefully your actual tournament day isn't this rough!!!

Net idea.. Im in a slayer max and when I run I put my net in one of the rear facing rod holders. When I get to my spot I'll pull it out and throw it across the front like you have yours now and use a yak attack roto grip to hold it and keep it in the boat. Not perfect but works for me.

Greg, winter time bass go deeper. Use bright color worms....deep water. If you have live shad you'll pull ten pounders all day. Sometimes very deep.

Hey ya got out before all the rain it’s Friday evening as I’m watching & on Thursday we had some serious rain here in 805 Ca. today no rain but the wind is now picking up so the next storms are already knocking on the door. Looked like a nice day out & ya caught a few nice fish so ya can’t beat that being we are literally right in between storms. This video is the only fishing I’m going to see this week but the lakes are getting filled so can’t complain.
@db98187 ай бұрын
You can clean up that DI it’s a little “hot” also the depth lines just get in the way of info not needed. When cruising looking for fish switch the 360 to SI you’ll see more water, then use 360 when on your spot to pinpoint them. I like the setup Birds have the best image quality for sure.

Bites still tough in CA! Sad to be able to see them follow the bait and not bite. Had a school of 5 follow my lures to the bank several times this weekend and refused to bite.

Regarding the net issue -> How about if you turned the net perpendicular to the water surface, and attach the handle to a clip on the track. That way the handle won’t be sticking out away from you and the net won’t even be resting on the storage top. Similar to how you have the paddle arranged. Maybe that would work better?

It’s been a little while since I watched one of your kayak videos. I actually had to go searching for your channel. Crazy how this KZbin Algorithm works… As always I sure enjoy just watching you fish and some of the best videos I like are days like this with the off bite. It gives me confidence that if Greg has days where he is grinding all no with minimal success it’s a normal thing so I just hang in there and keep casting. You always shine on tournament days Greg. Thanks for your educational kayak fishing videos.

Mr. Greg . . . Another enjoyed vid 👍. Had me chuckle a bit 😆. . . intent was to practice your CPR and to identify best practices / methodologies for CPR and you don't measure your first fish. OK, I know it was under 12" but going through the motions I thought would potentially help in data collection. On a side note, when you're able to see fish on your left graph, are you able to see them in your 360 graph? Is that a capability of 360? Looking forward to watching your trail / tourney season 🤙.

@GregBlanchardFishing7 ай бұрын
Nah just a 360 seat from amazon that had a locking feature but I even took that off to make the seat sit even lower. the new titanX models should have their updated (locking) seat soon. The ones in the first few molds they had to go with the only seats available at the time

Most bass fishing bait casters will work. Its more about the rod and string. Try using a medium / medium light rod with a fast tip and 6 - 8lb. monofilament line.
