FEMA needs to be disbanded and dismantled on day one of the new administration. The National Guard needs to set up tent cities for those needing help, until help can be properly rendered.

The national guard makes much more sense. Federal aid should boul down to utilizing active duty personnel in a similar fashion. There are bases everywhere and when we are in a "time of peace" such as now there is a significant amount of manpower living nearby that has the full logistics capabilities of the military. In 3 days even a few small task forces would be way more efficient than fema in a month

In that case I think we would have a draft, and conscientious objectors or anyone unfit for service overseas could fill the role of disaster preparedness here.

to give some perspective to people from regions that aren't like NC/TN etc, we are very wet states, meaning often when it snows it also rains or it melts and refreezes, meaning the roads will be covered in ice, powerlines get covered in ice, etc this is why our states tend to shut down in general whenever it snows even just an inch or 2 because it's extremely dangerous to try to drive, and the power tends to go out, and right now while its snowing outside basically across all of NC and TN, FEMA is trying to pull what little aid they're providing because it meets an on paper bureaucratic deadline and at this point also obviously because the government dislikes rural red areas that aren't filled with rich elites

The Komifornia stuff was caused directly by the actions(or inactions) of "officials", a hurricane slamming into the NC/TN line is a freak occurrence, they are not the same. ANYONE living in Komifornia has had 20 years or more worth of warnings, if they are still in that hell hole(literally now) they are there 110% by choice. So I don't feel bad for a single person there, and we should not be wasting our resources on those lost causes. Furthermore, the people of Ashville did not learn their lesson in Sept, as they demonstrated in Nov, so maybe they will finally learn if they freeze about it for a little bit, but I seriously doubt the have the ability to learn anything. The tragedy of that event, is all of the good people outside of Ashville. I know several groups are planning to make additional trips, some have made multiple already. When the community does more for those in need than the gooberment(which is how it should be), then we have no need for a gooberment(which we don't).
