He’s definitely lucky, he could have died many times during the show, but he was smart enough to realize he could end up like all his previous friends, all for nothing, so he got out of the game.

Exactly what I was gonna say lucky because they’re a few that get out the game. Smart because seeing that there’s only two options of the game and knowing both have no good ending

Poot was that "smart ass pawn" not Slim. Poot made it on the other side(legal life) but still remained working for somebody. His last scene, he's working at Footlocker and his uniform is black and white which symbolizes chess(Black and White pieces).

It wasn't a foot locker, it was called Jacob's Athletic Shoes and Sportswear. I thought there was nothing symbolic about the shirt. It symbolizes a popular shirt worn in a popular show store. Or we can say he did referee the Pit....lol.

Poot played the middle extremely well Like stringer said: you gotta be fierce but show sone flex He was able to learn and read the room Was willing to bus bus gun but didn’t live by it - a la prop joe Took nothing personal - always business Played his role but didn’t get too tied - he always seemed to treat his bosses indifferently but showed outward respect His vice was women - which besides std’s and getting his phone broken he never suffered consequences of He always listened more than he spoke He was a mirror of slim Charles in that respect - playing his position until he could transition

Poot Was That Smart Ass Pawn In The End. Bodie Was That, But He Broke His Own Code... Being Caught In The Same Jam In Which He Had To Take Wallace Out For.. That's How Bodie Got Checkmated. I Feel If He Didn't Agree To Give Jimmy Info Karma Wouldn't Have Allowed Monk To Spot Him Talking To The Detective, But The Airs Always Align Justice. I Don't Believe Bodie Woulda Took The Stand But He Was Gonna Spill Info On The Low To Get Rid Of Marlo. But The Game Is The Game And He Broke His Code To The Game He Agreed To Play. D'Angelo Wallace And Bodie All Have That Code Breaking Moment That Aligned Their Early Exit. Poot Stuck To His Code, Almost Got Caught A Few Time In The Face Of Death But Somehow He Made It Out That Position. Bodie Knew This In His Last Moments, As He Knew What Was Done Had Came Full Circle... He Know What He Sad To McNulty So He Stood Up Like A Mf Man As He Told Wallace.

Poot wasn’t lucky. He was just balanced. Wasn’t striving for everything, to him hustling was just a job taking him where it went. He didn’t violate any codes and gotten out of the game after experiencing enough of it. The two things in that life that bring people to death or jail. Is their drive for it and bad decisions. Sooner or later both are bound to land you in classic circumstances.

@@antoniobaugh707 You could say that about any of the characters lol or anyone in life..But as we saw,Poot didn't do the things that Bodie did to get himself killed..After Bodie died,Poot didn't seek revenge , he wasn't getting in the back seat of a cops car,he didn't let any pride get and emotions get in the way... That's everything Bodie did after Lil Kev's death

@@brandonbates9259 💯. Bodie was suppose to take over (we saw the entire series that he was really the gem to throne) but because he was so use to being up under Stringer and Avon. He wasn’t use to doing what they did to get where they got. He got a final chance standing up to Marlo (that if he got Prop Joe, Slim, and a few others on his side) by warring he might’ve came out victorious. But instead he folded and confided in the only person he never should’ve. Bringing his demise.

There are alot of poots in the hood, the usual path is jail and then out the game, come out and do something else, the second route is the close call like what happened to poot and boody on the corner. Usually, it's a I was supposed to be there when everyone got killed or arrested.

If Slim is the smart azz pawn ( he was more of a knight or bishop ) that made it to the other side? Poot is the smart azz pawn that realized he was one. At which point either you have the skill and ambition to get to the other side like Slim. Or you don't play. He wised up and stopped playing the game where pawns die quick.
