The azaan should be given in-front of the khatib: Khutbah should be in arabic only Bismihi Ta’ala JUM`AH SECOND AZAAN SHOULD BE GIVEN IN FRONT OF MIMBAR. The most important azaan that is given on the day of Jum`ah is that one that is given before Jum`ah Khutbah. It is on particular azaan that the Qur-aan is addressing to Muslim men to abandon everything and to obligatorily turn towards the masjid and Khutbah: ‘‘O You who believe, when the call for salaah is proclaimed on Friday, hasten for the remembrance of Allah, and leave off business. That is much better for you, if only you knew.’’(63:9) The business transactions are Makrooh for men as from the second Azaan of Jum`ah that is given before Khutbah(Fatawa Zakarya). And know that this second second azaan should be given in front of the mimbar and not anywhere else. It is wrong to give this second azaan outside the masjid or by the door of the masjid. It is reported in Tabrani that during the eras of Rasouloullah SAW, abu Bakr and Umar r.a., the azaan of Jum`ah used to be given by the mimbar: حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بن الْمُبَارَكِ الصَّنْعَانِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بن عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ، حَدَّثَنَا هُرَيْمُ بن عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى، قَالا: حَدَّثَنَا مُعْتَمِرُ بن سُلَيْمَانَ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنِ السَّائِبِ بن يَزِيدَ، قَالَ:"كَانَ النِّدَاءُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَأَبِي بَكْرٍ، وَعُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُمَا عِنْدَ الْمِنْبَرِ، وَأَوَّلُ مَنْ أَحْدَثَ النِّدَاءَ الأَخِيرَ عُثْمَانُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْه Also reported in Abu Dawood that azaan used to be in the masjid, IN FRONT OF RASOULOULLAH SAW on the mimbar, near a door that used to be there, near the mimbar: حَدَّثَنَا النُّفَيْلِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَقَ عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ السَّائِبِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ قَالَ كَانَ يُؤَذَّنُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا جَلَسَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ عَلَى بَابِ الْمَسْجِدِ وَأَبِي بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ Reported in bukhari by the same sahabah Sa-ib Ibn Yazid R.A. that Azaan of Jum`ah was given when the imaam has sat on the mimbar on the day of Jum`ah: حدثنا محمد بن مقاتل قال أخبرنا عبد الله قال أخبرنا يونس عن الزهري قال سمعت السائب بن يزيد يقول إن الأذان يوم الجمعة كان أوله حين يجلس الإمام يوم الجمعة على المنبر في عهد رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وأبي بكر وعمر رضي الله عنهما فلما كان في خلافة عثمان بن عفان رضي الله عنه وكثروا أمر عثمان يوم الجمعة بالأذان الثالث فأذن به على الزوراء فثبت الأمر على ذلك Basing on these ahadiths and the continuous practice of Sahabahs and Tab`ieens, fuqahas have concluded the same: Second azaan should be given in front of mimbar in the masjid. This is mentioned in Shami : وَاخْتَلَفُوا فِي الْمُرَادِ بِالْأَذَانِ الْأَوَّلِ فَقِيلَ الْأَوَّلُ بِاعْتِبَارِ الْمَشْرُوعِيَّةِ وَهُوَ الَّذِي بَيْنَ يَدَيْ الْمِنْبَرِ لِأَنَّهُ الَّذِي كَانَ أَوَّلًا فِي زَمَنِهِ عَلَيْهِ الصَّلَاةُ وَالسَّلَامُ وَزَمَنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ حَتَّى أَحْدَثَ عُثْمَانُ الْأَذَانَ الثَّانِي عَلَى الزَّوْرَاءِ حِينَ كَثُرَ النَّاسُ . ...the main accounted azaan is the one given in front of the mimbar...(Shami) Same in BahruRaiq: وَقِيلَ الْعِبْرَةُ لِلْأَذَانِ الثَّانِي الَّذِي يَكُونُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ الْمِنْبَرِ ؛ لِأَنَّهُ لَمْ يَكُنْ فِي زَمَنِهِ عَلَيْهِ الصَّلَاةُ وَالسَّلَامُ إلَّا هُوَ ..because there was no azaan at the times of Rasouloullah except the one in front of the mimbar...(Bahrur Ra-iq) In Sharhe Abu Dawood, the quote of Imaam Tahawi opting for the azaan in front of mimbar as the main azaan that prohibit business transactions for men: ثم اختلفوا في الأذان المعتبر الذي يحرم عنده البيع، ويجب السعي إلى الجمعة، فقال الطحاوي: نقول: هو الأذان الذي عند المنبر بعد خروج الإمام، فإنه الأصل الذي كان على عهد رسول اللّه And finally in Fathul Qadeer, it is mentioned that azaan in front of mimbar for Jum`ah is an established inherited practice: ( وَإِذَا صَعِدَ الْإِمَامُ الْمِنْبَرَ جَلَسَ وَأَذَّنَ الْمُؤَذِّنُونَ بَيْنَ يَدِي الْمِنْبَرِ ) بِذَلِكَ جَرَى التَّوَارُثُ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إلَّا هَذَا الْأَذَانُ That is why it is important that we should give the second azaan of Jum`ah near the mimbar in front of the Khateeb and not anywhere else. Nice khutbah for part 1, but part 2, I highly disagree. As Muslims, we must not get involved in non-Muslim governments, nor politics in a non-Muslim governments. By voting for kafirs in a non-Islamic system, it is saying that it’s ok to rule by other than the true Islamic Shariah, wa astagfir Allah!
