THE WITCH STRATEGY | Town of Salem Ranked Practice - Witch Gameplay

Town of Salem is back with some Ranked Practice gameplay! Today we are playing as the witch. I bring to you a witch strategy of when to claim Lookout. Claiming lookout as witch in Town of Salem is a big no go if there is a vocal day 1 TP/Lo claim. But when given the proper opportunity, a Lookout claim can be incredibly useful!

Witch is my favourite NE, because I don't care about winning that much anymore, and the other two aren't as fun/active I love finding vigi or controlling somebody into vet

Agreed. Plus there is nothing more satisfying than getting a crazy play as a witch. I had a game where I litterally didn't control anyone but the evils..and non of them claimed witched (Luckily) So I knew all the evil roles and town thought there was a Jester. I had a somewhat decent LO claim but it was called out as wrong..though thanks to no one claiming witch they all just assumed I was Jester and Ignored me for the remainder of the game. Their reaction to the otherwise won game as we had one maf, me and a jailor left with kills were fucking amazing XD I stopped him from executing and boom. Won the game. So much salt XD

There is one downside to witching vigi, which is that if it’s early you can hit evils. I remember a game, I don’t remember what mode, but I was vigi and got controlled into 2 mafia

Executioner is definitely my all time favourite NE, and general role in the game. You can cause chaos, have night immunity, and have a chance of turning jester which is fun too. Thank you for the video Skimm! I love your videos and have been a silent watcher for too long:)

aF Kayzar It actually was a dumb town play. When Sheriff died, The Ret was jailed the following night so he couldn’t revive. Then the day after the Sheriff left. But Town kept saying “WHY DIDNT YOU REVIVE” cause...it was literally impossible.

i had a really fun witch game today where i found the framer when the other maf left was killed that day then we worked together, witching bg out the way to get jailor and me using sk to get kills. we managed to get the win in the end :))

Witch is my all time favorite role in the game! lol XD The only down side is when you get evils that just don't try or leave the game and you're just kinda sitting there S.O.L Or when you get evils that will kill you just because they can. Just recently, I had a game where it was me and arso vs 2 townies. We just finished hanging a third town and tied majority when arso whispers me just before the day ended that he actually did douse me before he knew I was witch and that he's sorry. So just like any good Witch, I control him onto someone else so that he can't ignite. We had majority anyways, so it would've been fine, but no. Arso gets mad b/c I was "blackmailing him" into not igniting and lynches me with the townies. I realize now that I should've made him douse himself so that he couldn't ignite without everybody losing and if he lynched me and waited to clean the gas off then town would lynch him the next day. I just couldn't remember if controlling arso into himself makes him douse himself or if it makes him ignite, but it's players like this that make me vary cautious around the other evils. And another game I was Witch, there was an SK and 1 maf, a vet, and 1 other town. The day was ending so I knew I was safe to come out. I wanted to make sure to do so because mafia had mistakenly attacked me once already and I didn't want SK to kill me by accident. So i claimed out loud, "I'm witch, please don't attack me!" and what does SK do? Immediately fucking killing me. Thing is, mafia also happened to attack the Veteran that night and died. So by killing me, SK lost majority to town and town won. Karma at its finest :) But most of the time though, I love it when I'm witch and I can manage to take complete control of the town both at night and during the day, or when I can help save mafia/nk and make a come back with them. It's such a sneaky role and honestly quite powerful. It's like an Investigator and Escort rolled into one with the added bonus of making people do w/e you want. And it has defense, even if only temporarily.

controlling anyone into themselves makes them use their "select themselves" ability... doing it to a vet makes them alert which kills you, which is funny. doing it to a surv or bg makes them vest

Witch is my favorite NE, mostly because I dislike that the other two have no ability at night, while witch feels like they are capable of making plays that benefit evils (witching jailor to exe or not exe, forcing deaths to veteran, causing vigi shots, preventing escort rbs etc.) while exe and jest feel like worse fool/scorned. For a similar reason I dislike mafioso (they are totally dependent on GF for what they do and while I understand their place and that they are in a way needed, it just feels boring to not have control/not have anything to do at night).

TwoPercentSkimm I feel like exe is better because of the basic defense. Jesters get killed by mafia usually, but exe usually lives longer. Also you probably like exe because you’re insane at exe.

Easiest for me to win atleast. Making a mistake on purpose or getting lucky can make some ez wins. Exe still requires hard work to convince other and you might have a confirmed townie as target which is such a struggle.

The best play I think is to fool town, I think you need consort and forger. All you do is Forger claims LO and consort claim well you know escort. N1 don't visit as consort and say you blocked gf or mafiso and forger claiming LO will confirm consort visited the other maf member and the gf or mafiso will claim rb

I had an All Any game with 4 witches, one of them died and then two Amnesiacs turned into Witch meaning there were 5 alive Witches. I was Mayor and it was only me and a Investigator. The rest were members of the Mafia and Survivors and Jesters, and 12 players won with the Mafia on D3.

This reminded me of a AA game I had. I was witch who found another witch and a solo maf. The game suddenly became a Coven game when my witch teammate and I decided to side with the solo maf and won because of that. This ain’t a mafia win. This was the Coven win (in a AA game) with the mafioso joining the Coven. (There was a 3rd witch but we screwed her up because when we have majority, we lynched her not knowing that. A pity that we didn’t find her or else she would have joined my coven gang)

Witch makes it very difficult for town to win but it is definitely not my favourite NE role to play... however one of my favourite tactics with witch is to never witch anybody til I figure out who’s mafia later on in the game when more people die... yeah, that’s my shittiest tactic..
