It is forbidden yes!But if it wasn’t possible God would have said so.Instead He says it an abomination for ppl to do so..Ppl quote King Solomon in Ecclesiastics as though it is God speaking but it’s not.If you read the whole book it’s King Solomon speaking from his perspective as though the cycle of life and death continues forever.Which is why he doesn’t speak of the resurrection.God intends for a person’s soul to rest until He resurrects them which is why it is forbidden 🙏🏾

Well this was Old Testament and samuel was in sheol which was a part of the underworld so I can believe it but now heaven and hell is totally separated so no righteous man would be in hell today therefore you wouldn’t conjure up the actual person but a demon in todays time but back then I believe the witch called for the prophet and he appeared but not by her powers the LORD sent Samuel with a message remember GOD is all knowing like in the GOE when he asked Adam and Eve why they was dressed but he already knew why they was dressed

Exactly. Remember, at this point in history, Yashuah had not yet died on the cross, descended to Sheol and freed worthy souls. Even though Samuel was God's prophet, he STILL died in sin and descended into Sheol like everyone else (except Enoch and Elijah) and had to wait to be freed by Yashuah.

The figure is indeed Samuel. The bigger story is that before Jesus, no human that died could go to heaven. They all went to hell. Again, there a misunderstanding of what hell is. When most people talk of hell today, they erroneously speak of judgement(lake of fire) instead. Hell itself is what Catholics call purgatory. It was a waiting place for the souls of the righteous and yes, it was under the control of the devil because upto the coming of Jesus, the devil had the legal right of ownership to every soul on earth. That's why Jesus had to go down to hell after his crucifiction - "to set the captives free." So, yes. At that point the witch could summon Samuel.
