I bought a friend the Witcher 3 Goty as a gift. I thought this amazing game is even better when gifted. He never played any RPG in his live so the start was a bit rough for him. But I helped him and explained him the basics and told him, that in this game reading about monsters and characters is a must. Not like in the other games these days. He did enjoy the journey, and now he's facing the final battle which he refuses to do. He doesn't want it to end. I told him that there are the expansions which are at least another 30 hours, but so far no change :D He did fell in love with the franchise like so many of us have. The 10th Anniversary video is heartwarming and I'm glad I could experience such a great game. Thank you, CD Projekt.

Thats awesome, similar thing happened to me. A friend of mine lent me his copy of the game and after constantly asking me to play it I gave it a try. He gave me the same advice as you, I struggled with the game early on, but eventually fell in love. Although I still had to buy the expansions, by the time I finished the main story it wasn't even a question. Finishing off my playthrough in Toussaint was absolutely perfect, but finding the anniversary video for the witcher series proved to me that CD projeckt red was unlike any other company. At this point I can only dream and hope that they would make another Witcher game.

Cyberpunk 2077 is in very good hands. Mark my words "cyberpunk 2077 will be the best game of all time". With the amount of effort put in to the witcher 3 in over 4 years development, cyberpunk is sure to be the next big RPG. There is something about CD that no other company does, and that is taking their time to make games that the fans want. See for the past several years, the majority of AAA games have been rushed and squeezed under a deadline. This resulted in many RPGs failing, except for one game, witcher 3. CD takes the mistakes that other game company's have made and turns them into motivation and an overall better, more planned out development. The witcher 3 is my favorite RPG of all time and will always be for these reasons. Update: ive never been more wrong
@eduardocunha90067 жыл бұрын
I see your point and agree with your arguments, but there were other RPGs that didn't fail. From the top of my head I can point out Horizon Zero Dawn and Persona 5. I don't believe either of them to be as rich as the Witcher 3 but still... amazing games that followed the same formula: take your time and make it the best you can. It works, I wish other companies could see that.
@johnnyg12377 жыл бұрын
Eduardo Cunha yeah true. I never thought of those games because I play on Xbox. But yeah horizon was also very impressive. Like I said, getting a successful RPG doesn't happen very often, statistically proven. Mainly speaking for games on all platforms. I'm excluding any exclusives because those don't pertain to the majority of RPG gamers. But the witcher was mainly known so well not only because it is an amazing game, but it it is one of the few very successful ones as well.
@MrBandholm7 жыл бұрын
One can hope that Cyberpunk 2077 is going to be one of the best of all time... And CDPR is certainly the company to deliver... But there is one huge difference! The Witcher series had a really solid foundation in the books to make Garelt, and most of the important characters, the hero that he is. CDPR showed that they can make awesome characters on their own (The red baron fx), but Cyberpunk 2077 will be more "open", and that makes a big difference. But at this point, if anyone can make Cyberpunk the next big RPG, it is CDPR!
@johnnyg12377 жыл бұрын
bandholm I totally agree. And I also like how they are keeping the game secret, and not releasing any trailers too long before the game. That is also another big factor that many games fail to do. They have been working on this game for a very long time already, and I highly doubt it will fail, it being their "biggest project yet".

It is such a cool, implicit take on Geralt's legacy! When he says he wouldn't be there otherwise - (book spoiler alert) at the end of original novel series Geralt is, literally as dead as dead a person (or mutant) can be. Pierced by a pitchfork. The fact we, gamers, fell in love with that world and kept coming back to live through Geralt's adventures, forgave the producers a rather lame excuse for him coming back from the dead at the beginning of W1, kept him alive. I bet many voices in CD Projekt Red were in favour of sacrificing Geralt at the end of trilogy for extra catharsis and drama... but that would mean RIOTS on the streets :) Thanks to us he settled in Tussount and slowly grows old. We saved him from resting in a shallow grave somewhere in the dark fantasy world. Well deserved, mate!

Just put some time in between the playthroughs (I finished my first in July '15, started my 2nd autumn '16 and my 3rd just a few weeks ago) and its great fun everytime! You cant imagine the incredible amount of details you forget about the storyline and the quests in general. Sure, it will never be the first time again, but I promise: a 2nd or 3rd playthrough of the Witcher3 is still a much more enjoyable experience compared to most of the games that have been released since then (Nier:Automata, XCOM2 and Hellblade were my personal exceptions, great games). Highly recommend not letting Geralt go. Its just too good of a game. ;)

I never really got into Witcher 1, but Witcher 2 was very much loved. Witcher 3 gave me the most enjoyment out of any game I've ever played. Geralt has become like family and I am guessing it's the same for practically everyone else playing this series. This video was just a fantastic way of closing the book on this chapter and I am overjoyed it was a happy ending! Ciri survives, Olgierd survives, Vernon Roche and Ves both survive, Bloody Baron survives so likely his wife too. Corvo Bianco probably became the new place for Eskel (speaking of which he looks mighty drunk!) and Lambert to stay for the winters.. while Lambert stays pretty much permanently. The three are practically brothers so I am certain Geralt would have it no other way. All in all, this is the fairytale ending that Geralt deserved after all he's been through!

MD, I really LOVE your reaction videos so much. You are the BEST at those. Dern CD Projekt Red. I've seen this video about six times and it still makes me cry. When I get my Xbox One X, I'm going to ANOTHER complete play thru. My favorite game of all time.

I know I am late on this but I remember playing the witcher 2 when it was free on consoles back on 360 I remember putting in so many hours into the game then after I finished it I hoped and prayed to lebiodia that there would be another witcher 3 game I was so scared that the game wouldn't come out or it would get sent to a farther date but now that it is here I am very proud to say that I enjoyed my experience playing this game I grew up being a star wars and lord of the rings addict but now the witcher has completely changed my faith in gaming I fell in love with this series I hope it never ends I hope I can keep coming back to the witcher 3 the music is probably the most amazing in the video game I just can't get enough of this series and the people in this fan base are very nice also

I just finished my 1st playthrough. I can't get the characters out of my head. 😢😢 I really wish the game would have a real get together like this...Would like nothing more than to just look at them enjoying themselves for all eternity. I wish Ciri would stay forever with Geralt ❤️

i think no one will judge you for trying to play and beat the witcher 3 dlc. :) This 10th year anniversary video is so heartwarming. Especially because the game and devs made this for us, the fans.
