That was the whole point. People will argue, but it's a matter of perspective. Not to stand in her way, and be a good father figure. She is something like a "Deus Ex Machina". She was never made to rule or even to be a Witcher. But Witcher ending seems more realistic because Geralt is the one who was with her most of her life. The real ending would be her leaving after destroying the White Frost. She is not an empress, nor a Witcher...she is something more.

Nilfgaard winning the war with Ciri as empress is probably the best ending for the Witcher world as a whole. Nilgaard is far less superstitious than the Northern Kingdoms and will likely put an end to the Church of the Eternal Fire and their near daily witch burnings Nilfgaard treats non-humans much better than Northerners do in-general and with them ruling most of the North the Scoia'tael would probably be allowed to return to Dol Blathana and with that a raise in elf birthrates And with Ciri at the helm it is nearly guaranteed all of these things and more will be true if they wouldn't be with Emyr.

Ciri becoming a Witcher and the North winning is the worst outcome for the world, yet feels like the happy one (with the North conquering the invaders and Ciri doing what she really wants). CDPR really did nail the story and made it like real life, where there is not a happy endings for all, it’s just about perspective...

@@louiswaze4603 Ciri isn't put on the throne right away as soon as the game ends. In Blood and Wine she says the Emyr is still on the throne while she is being taught how to be an empress. She'll at least have a baseline knowledge on what to do. And Emyr wasn't much better off in these departments when he retook the throne after the Coup d'etat. Also it is resolved in the books that Emyr is no longer interested in having an incestuous relationship with Ciri. It was for political reasons to begin with but in the end he decides it's not worth it.

Screaming Meat I think ciri would pick up the knowledge faster then most people but you have to remember she doesn’t really care about being empress (at least not in the game I haven’t read all the books) so that would also hinder her learning since she wouldn’t always be 100% eager to work/learn. And it’s common sense that not everyone will be pleased with ciri as a ruler so she would find herself dealing with a lot of hassle and you must keep in mind ciri is not a manipulator or a master strategist, I think she would be a great ruler if there wasn’t inside politics but I don’t think she could handle or see through a lot of people’s deception and dirty tactics, remember she’s a trainer Witcher not a leader/politician

I love this ciri as empress ending...it more logical and realistic for Whicher world. Because as a viewers story might end at a note of "and they live happily ever after" but as character life goes on for them with action and consequences. In my opinion If we consider Whicher ending it's not all happy ending if you think about it. Ofcourse for few years of training she spent with Geralt were best. Then she goes for monster hunting only by herself alone and became the femous "ashen hair Whicher with scar on her face". But emperor is not stupid he will instantly recognize her or enquire about her. And obviously he will try to bring her back. In my opinion at this point she will consider to become empress. because it's fun being Whicher but it's child's dream, after wondering alone all over the continent she realize that she could do much better at power. This is one arc as of realization, self discovery and responsibility. (2)If she refuse then real problem will begin, emperor will get really pissed at Geralt, because he told lie straight to his face about Ciris death. Now he can't harm Ciri of course because of she's hair To The Throne. Meanwhile he definitely send Army to kill Geralt. Now his and yen/triss will constantly be on run for rest their life. In this condition she will have to choose to fight the most powerful emperor (could be possible plot for Whicher 4. And at the end after defeating her father she stil had to become queen due to lack of rightfull candidate to avoid chaos) or make some deal with her father in exchange for Geralt's life. So either way sooner or later she ended up becoming empress.(Sry for english)

Its a good alchemy armor actually, raises toxicity to 160 I think? You can drink 2 decoctions! And increases potion count by 1, + another one if you have the alechmy perk after being well rested on the bed, some potions go upto 7! :D :D

One of my play through I set up Ciri to become an empress. Gave skeligge to cerys killed radovid and made shit disappear that may inconvenience her. But somehow it feels she was not as happy as if she simply become a witcher

It makes no sense that ciri acts like they won't hardly be able to see each other again during the "empress" ending in white orchard, ciri can literally teleport anywhere and to any realm in an instant, sure she will be busy with the politics and such if being a leader, but it's not like she cant see Geralt whenever she wants. And giving up her sword just felt overly dramatic, a monarch needs a sword too, she can certainly handle defending herself and leaders often have to protect themselves, so giving up the sword was just dumb. That's the only problems I have with that ending, otherwise I think it's better overall. Nilfgard gets a peaceful and wise ruler who is of elder blood, and ciri can still make time (literally as the lady of space and time) to see her friends and family and even go on the occasional contract with Geralt as a part-time Witcheress. They tired to force that ending seem like some sad goodby when in reality it's just the beginning.

Martin Drake There is no cannon ending in The Witcher 3. That's kinda the point of these types of games. However, out of all the endings, the one with Ciri as a Witcher seems the least possible to me. It's just too fairy tale-ish. If there's an ending which I would consider the most possible I think it's the empress ending. It just feels more in line with the Witcher universe.

Cristóbal Duchén, Couldn't agree more! Though, if you remember, the Witcher books mentioned that this universe is very fairy, but there is always a grain of truth in it. And following the results of the books at the ends, still, i think if Andrew Sapkowski and the crew of the cdpred should've decided the main ending for CIRI's Saga (Because we are talking about her fate) is when she finally becomes a Witcher, or at least free, and unimpeded. ps. or stays with Geralt like she wanted to (at Sword of Destiny's end at Yaruga's farm) But i agree with you that the results of the Empress ending is seems much more detailed and beautiful... This is what i don't understand. They should've put more emotional or at least more dialog between the characters, when she becomes a Witcher. Even Sapkowski said it, that the slavic mitology is not about the reality, but about the fairy tales, that the people used to tell to their children before going to bed. Or at least in Poland haha! If you mean the Empress ending, then just take her to Emyhr and Kill Radovid. If you mean a person coming at your home just finish the blood and wine main quest. Ciri comes if you have romanced none of the two sorceresses. Likewise if you romance Yen, she's the one to come and if you romance Triss she'll come. If you killed Ciri by being a horrible piece of shit and romanced none of the two Ladies then Dandelion will visit you.

For one of the greatest games ever written, I must admit, this epilogue is definitely underwhelming. Not just Ciri’s empress ending either… All of them lol… Still, TW3 continues to rest comfortably as the greatest game of all time. Well at least in this gamers humble opinion

If Trump can take a long weekend to play golf and then return to Presidential duties - Ciri can also take a couple days off once a month to be a witcher for the fun of it. With the abilities she's finally perfected during the story of W3 (beat all of Whoreson Junior's thugs, then the Crones, then Caranthir) - she's pretty much immune from most run-of-the-mill monsters, and she can at the very least safely escape from the more powerful ones if things don't go as planned, so it's not "irresponsible" for her to do so, either.
