If you prefer cute and romantic girls, you'll take Triss. If you prefer beautiful and a resilient one, you'll take Yen ! Spot on with the sentiment here, although personally the canon route was always for me (I’ve picked both on different playthroughs over the years) because I truly believed in Yennefer’s cause and her way of attaining it. Yennefer’s decisions throughout TW3 were to find Ciri and protect her at all costs and between her and Geralt the decisions they both made were morally high, though rash and extreme in Yennefer’s case. That is OK. Yennefer was never in it for herself as she constantly made decisions in the best interests of other characters. Books can be interpreted different ways but in TW3 it is almost entirely a selfless cause for Yennefer. Triss on the other hand uses Geralt for her own gain nearly all the time and provides problems for Geralt to solve with little gain for Geralt outside of sex and the illusion of true love that is neither confirmed nor denied but with Yennefer is confirmed and romantically at that. I reference the Djinn quest in my resolve, in that Yennefer wanted her and Geralt’s love to be real and went through great lengths in the best interest of both characters. RPGs are made for the player to pick and choose, and with that I agree, but Yennefer is my forever option.

Yeah, I get your point, but youre not playing commander Shepard, youre not creating a character from essentially whole cloth. Geralt existed before the games, has history with these characters, especially Yen and Triss. That creates SOME dissonance between the player and the character they control. In this case, personally I would probably pursue Trish. But Geralt's love- the love of his like is Yennifer. Its the same way I personally want Ciri to stay with Geralt on the path at the end, but whats best for the world is for her to become Empress. I may want to be with Trish, but Geralt belongs with Yen.

Gossamer, I just wanted a cutscene where you actually see Geralt and Triss settle down and live normal lives, and not just talk about it being in the future. This seemed like a perfect place to have it, especially because this is the last we'll ever see Geralt. It would've made for an awesome ending. This is THE best ending for Geralt in my opinion. Triss is sweet, peaceful, and caring Yen is a rough ride, passionate and she is the type of woman that knows how to get inside your head. Both has their pros and cons, but honestly i'd rather choose Triss, because she is more my type physically and personality wise. And Yen often seems like a condescending wannabe queen with her attitude towards Geralt. I'd imagine with her he would have to settle and accept her less.... charming sides. But regardless of what others think or even if i preffered Yen, i recall Geralt himself saying something along the lines of how with Yen there was always one argument after another, but with Triss he finally felt some harmony and peace. But if you chose to be with Yen, you hear him saying something like: "guess we needed a while to grapple with it" Which sounds to me like another way of saying that he needed time to settle with what he had. But he also later said it's where he felt like he was supposed to be, which is a bit inconsistent with what he said before.... So i guess it is just as debatable as whether or not Geralt would choose to settle down and hang up his Swords for good or keep being a Witcher after everything is done.

Geralt always wanted a home and be with Yen and Ciri...it was his dream in the Witcher book saga. The games ARE great, and in the games you can choose Triss if YOU prefer Triss, and that is totally ok. It doesn’t change the fact that the Geralt Sapkowski originally wrote CHOSE Yennefer. He wasn’t forced into a relationship with her, HE CHOSE YENNEFER, a loooong time ago, long before he even met Triss actually. Choosing Triss in the games is ok, and maybe it leads to a nice story but it will always be YOUR choice as a player.

And there are way too many differences between the book and the games, like Doug Cockle himself even said : There are some things that happened in the books that show up in the game, BUT The game is a standalone thing, it uses the books world, the creatures and the language and cultures is all based on the books, but the game overall is its own thing. So when it comes to the actual events and progressions of the story in the game, it for the most part tries to be original. So it doesn't matter if Geralt chose Yen in the books or not.

Adapting the same story wouldn't really work because gamers want their choices to be acknowledged by the game, so CD Projekt decided early on to go with a sequel to Sapkwoski's novels.

When I got to the end of the main game and everyone was kind of gone I was a bit disappointed. I thought it would be cool to see your place with Triss in Kovira and have many dialogue interactions with her (including romance). As Ciri became a witcher in my game at the end I thought it would be cool to have maybe random weekly contracts you could choose and team up with her on, as well as some of the other witchers. Having Triss show up at my vineyard was a surprising taste of that but I wish there were more post game interactions with the characters you've grown fond of throughout the game.

Yep.. That was my only beef with the game as well.. They should have made the world a bit like a MMO where you could do some things repeated where treasures could randomly respawn and contracts could continue and you could use the side characters to go with you, even though you could always start a new game, what's the point? It's one of those games where you want to keep playing, and high stakes Gwent with some random NPCs and continued horse races would have been nice as well/along with the fist fighting, instead you could only go so far with it.. They should have put Lambert and Kaer Morhen with Keira (she's there) along with Letho (who also disappeared), Kaer Morhen is also suited for Yennefer.. I thought she would have a room there like we had at the beginning of the game in Geralt's dream, especially if we romanced her, but she isn't even anywhere to be found. There was very little post game interactions with the war stuff going on after I killed Radovid, had no post interactions with Roche after I killed Dijkstra and vice versa..

Yennefer settles with you there forever and ever. I say the best looking armor is the Grandmaster Ursine Armor. Its look awsome and if equipted with the whole Armor set in including the Ursine Swords silver and steel you get a boost on your quen. The one only magic I use, since my Geralt is a beast when doing demage to enemys One heavy attack slash could kill like three human or small monster enemys in close proximity and if they hit while quen is activated they get there 50% demage back towards them to end their life. Also I could say the best sword in this game should be the one in heart of stone when you help the guy who is immortal and gives you his sword. God its a beast the demage goes up the charts if you get hit once it cost some of your vitality the sword would start glowing red all around and once you hit someone with a heavy its death for them oh its only for human enemys. Also theres another exactly blood and whine like this one but for monster enemys it charges 10 time so with every slash you do more demage theres a counter benif your heath.

Triss doesn't make him do anything. Geralt chooses to go north to Kovir with her. Besides pick Triss and Geralt explains to Ciri why he did. All the fighting and arguments and Yen's attitude was becoming tiring. It was fun at first but Geralt has grown away from that. I refuse to romance Yen anyway for attacking Geralt for sleeping with Triss when he lost his memory and can't even have an adult conversation cause she so emotionally unstable that she throws you into a river. She could have been woman enough to confront Triss about sleeping with Geralt during his memory loss but no she's to much a victim of her own emotions. Not relationship material in my book. Besides Triss has an official job in Kovir doing what she loves. Geralt is happy as long as he's with her and he stills take contracts from time to time to keep from getting rusty. Besides the vineyard is a great romantic getaway. Doesn't have to be a permanent home. Triss is not perfect but I prefer her over Yen.

I didn't like this ending. It doesn't really feel like and ending at all. I kept expecting something to happen, for Triss to make a decision to stay with Geralt in Toussaint, cause I read that Yen and Geralt settle down there and retire and it's great. So I invested money into the house hoping it might persuade Triss to stay. But she just keeps sitting there for en eternity. What a bummer. I'm definitely romancing Yen next playthrough.

Or that even though deep down she is a good and likable person she dismisses her faults without a second thought making it hard to justify her. We are talking about the same Yen who upon her and Geralt’s first meeting forced Geralt to get back at other people who had verbally insulted her (landing Geralt in jail if not worse), Nearly destroying a whole town out of selfishness, and Openly mocking another man who loved her? After learning about and starting to read the saga, I decided Yen is the only correct choice... But finishing all the games backwards (played 3 then 2 then 1) kinda makes me want to choose Triss again. I confessed my love for her in the first game. Letting her go on the docks is so hard... :'( Oh well, it's not he'll never see her again, if Yen allows it. So what if she's in Kovir? She's a sorceress. She can teleport. She can have tea in Corvo Bianco and be back to Kovir in time for her...council meetings or whatever.

Kind of a creepy interpretation of it...but has some truth to it. But if Geralt had any "mommy issues," they were mostly linked to feeling abandoned by her...something that Yennefer does several times (and vice versa). I'm not sure Sapkowski ever intended for them to be a very good match in many ways, but their destinies are tied, and ultimately that trumps everything.

With all due respect, I really don't see or feel any connection between Triss and Geralt. The conversations are somewhat straightforward and Triss seems to be constantly trying to seduce Geralt even while talking, instead of showing understanding and compassion (or anything suggesting towards she loving him truly). That being said I still think it's really cool CDPR actually gives the player this choice, despite the fact that according to the books Geralt is supposed to be with Yennefer. (no hate, pls don't get triggered) EDIT: Make sure to also check the outcome where Yennefer moves in and compare them. I don't disrespect your choice of Triss, I would just like to make some points! :3

I watched this just to see if that was actually the entire encounter at corvo Bianco, the fact that Triss says “just a moment” made me think that there was more that happened later. It just didn’t seem quite right for her to say “just a moment” and then for Geralt to fuck off into the countryside.
