TruthBeTold the e3 one looks a bit more alien like to me. If Eredin is a ghost-demon thing from a completely alien, unknown world, then I would say that will be better. One cannot tell if the mask is mimicking his own looking or if it is something else, make it more mysterious in a way. But since Wild Hunt in the essence are elves slave master/army on steroids, the second one is better imo. He appears to be more relatable since he is using a humanoid skull as his mask, which makes him more “brutal” than “mysteriously scary”.

Petar Vasilijevic It has a downgrade to the lighting but the textures are so much better. I think they made a compromise. The lighting was probably too taxing as you could imagine considering how demanding this game is so they decided to go with the higher res textures and I think they made the right choice. Now if we where talking about the 2013 reveal then it would defiantly be a different story because it looks 100x better. Sure the 2014 demo looks a little better in certain areas but the base game does look really close. If the game looked any better then what the retail version looks like then almost no one would be able to run it at the time it came out. It's nothing compared to what Ubisoft does they basically show you cgi in the trailers and demos that far surpasses what the game will actually look like. Yes lighting makes a big difference but at the same time the game still does look really great and pretty close to that 2014 demo in every other aspect other then the lighting but they made up for that a little with the better texture quality.

Fur simulation is Nvidia hairworks. Volumetric fog is only at Kaer Morhen, and was removed from other areas. Screen space reflections still appear, but on a limited number of objects. Pre-release puddles and the like had full reflections.

From an art perspective, a lot of these changes made sense. They made the colour grading a lot more consistent, and the Wild Hunt turn everything around them blue, and icy, and cold even the fire which really goes well with the idea of the White Frost, reaffirming just how cold and inhuman they are. And of course they're going to make the Triss scene less bloody for a large audience lol

Console hardware was still too weak to simply deliver what has been shown during the showcase, standard PS4 hardware is also stronger than standard XB1, they had to even it out just like any other dev to not have too much confusion, time and resources spent on squeezing out as much as possible from each individual platform. You think the devs would downgrade it because of.. what? Just for shits and giggles? That happens with practically every game nowadays. It's always downgraded in some degree, and everything always looks better on showcases. If the hardware wasn't too weak there wouldn't be such a thing as a downgrade, since it wouldn't be needed. theres difference between overhype, decieve the customer into thinking the graphic is better than it actually is, and actually downgrade to meet console's spec, Witcher3 even released a downgraded in game generated trailer before release, while ubisoft intentionally over render their "in game" graphics. ？？ are you literally brain dead or are you just ignoring my comments or has a reading comprehension of 0?? im here repeating myself again, youre comparing to a freaking trailer years before release, how the actual fking hell would and could they possibly know what the end game will be like and how the not even released console spec will be so they can tune the rendering high and low settings for the game engine??? as for the endings, there are different endings for almost every major characters like Keira, could live with robert, could end up dead on a spike, etc, etc, all the combinations produces even directly different ending screens, ppls fate are all different, and thats literally different endings, and with different combinations its ofc more than 3.

The footage was presented as in game footage back in 2013/2014. CDPR has stated as much themselves both when the trailers of 2013 and 2014 was released but also to a german magazine when the downgrade talk was on it highest back when the game was released. So there's no agenda pushing in this video. It was literally how the game was originally suppose to look like. The issue however was that the console generation was far less powerful that they anticipated when they started to develop the game. That created issues and they had to make a decision on: 1. either to develop a version for PC and one for console or 2. they had to cut corners in genera and downgrade the graphic to have one version that could run on all platforms. They choose option number 2. Now that doesn't take away from the fact that TW3 is still one of the best game ever made and there's of course much more to a game than graphic. It does however mean that to some (especially PC owners) the "aesthetic atmosphere" that the original gameplay footage portrayed was replaced by some graphic fidelity that was far less impressive and atmospheric. Personally I would have loved to see TW3 as it was original visioned graphically. It would have imo have made a much more immersive experience. It simple had much more "mature" and realistic atmosphere.

Being PC exclusive made wither 1 and 2 upgraded. 3 started as multiplatform and it was downgraded. Also animations were downgraded too. I have seen demo gameplay and there is more realistic animations.

I don't know if you noticed it too but after all the updates they removed the dust that was in the basic Geralt armor and if you see in the right shoulder there is a blue line that was not there before.

I love having the ability to play games with low graphics like TW 2 on my toaster or TW 3 on my Xbox. And I know that I will soon upgrade my graphics on pc later when I will have a better machine, thanks to mods.

You have to consider that the best possible picture and frames are for E3 it’s the case with every game you’re not going to advertise and try to sell a game with graphics of something lesser, anyhow the game is an utter masterpiece and regardless how it looks I love every moment of it.

Aditya Bhandari i did on 1440p, but mostly on 1080p ultra. It's basic 2015-2014 graphics. You can like the game as much as you want, idc. But it's not at all beautiful or groundbreaking looking. Tbh even black flag has moments where it looks a lot better than witcher 3 and that game is 2 years older.
