Just picked up the Witcher 3 again. Haven’t played it since I was a kid, was super trash at the game and quit. Now as an adult I love it. But it’s definitely an older game and has some jank. I get stuck constantly and have to reload saves, roach doesn’t handle well compared to newer games, and some pretty major visual bugs during cutscenes. Jank but good still.

I had a very similar experience with The Witcher 3. I barely made it out of White Orchard the first time round playing this game and I gave up on it. I couldn't get to grips with Death March and I was only just getting into trophy hunting and it became overwhelming keeping track of everything. Nearly 4 years later I came back to it towards the end of last year and I'm so glad I did. The difficulty just clicked after sticking with it which meant I got to experience one of the best games I've ever played. Class video, love the humour you add

For me it was the piss poor tutorials. Took a long while to truly not feel overwhelmed by what are, in actuality, extremely basic videogame mechanics. And even then, I was finding out basic shit like potions and bombs being restored by meditating really late into the game.

Once you get past level 10 it gets much easier since you get more skills and abilities. I just tried to treat every fight like I was playing dark souls or sekiro lol

Recently got the platinum, and homestly its tough at first but later becomes easier because the weapons and armor you get for linking your cdpr account were a huge help in advancing.

On point.Entertaining video, my G. 🔥 I'm on my second platinum journey with Witcher 3. Outside of the "Deathmarch" trophy when I finish this run, the only one i've still to get is "Overkill". I've gotten all the the other miscellaneous combat trophies at the good ol' cliffs near Trottheim. For some reason though, i've been having a tough time with this one trophy this time.

Ohhh, that's why I find my current playthrough on Death March so much easier. I didn't have Gourmet back then and now I immediately took it of course. I can remember that I struggled with healing at the beginning even on Hard in 2015...

Gourmet does run its course midway through the game though. Your health and enemy atttacks scale so high that healing from food is a pittance but by then you'll have swallow potions and white raffard's decoctions.

When i hit platinum finaly it was funny because the title of the trophy is "the limits of the possible" and directly after the trophy popped their was a guy saying "How is it even possible?". It was after the passiflora tournament.

Congrats on the Plat. The PS4 version was my 100th Plat. I had a lot of fun replaying and earning the Plat for the PS5 version last December. I actually didn't know about the Gourmet skill and didn't use it either time. I didn't expect to like Gwent so much.

I have all 3 ps4 platinums vanilla, US complete edition and EU game of the year edition, last up is the ps5 version when i get around to buying a ps5. I don't think its difficult but without gourmet skill in the vanilla version without dlc the start is hard but not impossible but you will struggle if you try to rush just enjoy take your time and do all side content.

I tried this game when it came out and didn't really catch on coz I had COD brain, tried again during the pandemic and committed to finding everything on the map + side quests...burned out...and then started again last week from where I left off and trying to go for plat. I'm almost done but a bit livid I didn't find the boat captain going to Skellige for my 1000 coins back, I'm a looting God and got everything else but the captain coz he was hiding behind a boat, I swear he wasn't there and isn't now that I've gone back to the location to check, bit stiff by the devs to have him de-spawn... all well... time to play some shopkeep 100 times for the money back hahaha feels like a 2015 game too fun times

beating it on death march is hard at the beginning. I mean them first few ghouls will almost one shot you but the more you lvl up and do like all sidequest it becomes pretty easy.

If anyone needs help achieving this platinum let me know. Currently finishing up my third platinum for TW3. Sign builds make things significantly easier, especially on DM difficulty. Your only real opponent will be the time investment, but thankfully the quality of the game makes it well worth it.

I just got all the achievements recently, though I hadn’t even started looking at achievements until play through #5... It took 1,309 hours over 3 years (6.5 play throughs) because the game is distractingly good

Persona 5 took me 202 or 220 hours. I'm at 227 or whatever of Witcher 3, and haven't finished my final gwent quests yet before I finally start NG+ for the first time. I hate that NG++ doesn't exist but oh well. Apparently platinum can be achieved in 65 hours with your latest guide. I have a lot already on both, even though I plan to do every quest on the right level to try to maximize all of them, but more importantly since I never platinumed it on PS4. I think I could platinum it on PS5 via NG+ and cross play on the PS4 to all the trophy points to unlock them there. Instead of fully playing the ps4 version again. That would suck.

I'm onto the final battle with the wild hunt on death march and i have had to put it aside for a while as it was becoming mentally draining to keep losing the fight even with good armour (grandmaster legendary wolven armour set) and changing up my mutations and skills so will take a break and come back to it to finish off the platinum journey

witcher 3 aka the only game ive done more then the required amount of playthroughs on simply cause i wanted a playthrough just on my own no guides no nothin just playin through the game on death march keeping in mind a few of the missables to try and get them if i could but not really worrying about it then doing a full platinum walkthrough following playthrough on the easiest difficulty afterwards

I just think it's a "sum of all the parts" kind of thing. Combat is meh and boss battles are underwhelming, but the writing is solid along with actual decent side quests as opposed to filler/radiant quests. Plus the actual world, lore etc. Although I 100% agree that it's not for everyone, but the people it is for it really clicks

U know why rhis game is considered one of the best ever? It’s almost all carried by the world it takes place in.. it’s literally the perfect thing to adapt into a video game.. I think cyberpunk is a better game in general than W3, but even I have to admit man there’s just something so special about the Witcher, the world, the built in enemy variety with all the monsters, the combat is just ok but it’s made better by the vast amount of different enemies and boss fights, and yeah all of it combined together ro make a special game
