White orchard is a pretty small area, fast travel is pretty fast there even with the hdd. Try Velen and Novigrad, those areas take a lot more even with an ssd.

Nah not to me i have an ssd i tried starting from skellige to novigrad it took 2 seconds for fast travel

Does the SSD fix the weird conversation loading times? You know, when you’re talking to someone and the screen will hang for a sec before switching to a different view?

Mine doesn't hang at all. It's funny because when I was installing the game, it said it was ready to play, so I started it up. There were huge lags during conversations, like what you're mentioning, only worse. I let the game finish installing and all conversations are flawless.
