Even though they can design everything now, voices will be missing. However, guess what? There readily available and free voice AIs on internet. Modders can train the AI to sound like the original voice actor/actress and add extra lines. It may be the exact same voice, or very close depending on how much training data we have in the original game, but you can absolutely recreate Yennefer, Geralt, Triss etc. cuz they already have so many conversations(training data) in the original game. AI learns a voice in 10-15 minutes, probably faster if you have a better computer.

If there was an AI audio attachment that would let you create voice lines in the characters' voices, this would be the single greatest thing to happen to any modding community ever anywhere. But I suspect that will come around from the community in due time.

Personally: I’m course very excited by the extremes of what the community can do with these mods, like creating basically an expansion on the scale of Blood and Wine or pretty much remake Witcher 1 and 2 with Wild Hunt’s engine. But those could take FOREVER and may never come to fruition or reach their potential due to scope. I’m much more excited about easier access for changing the game so we can do smaller gameplay overhauls. For example like changing alchemy and making it work like it did in Witcher 1. Or better combat overhauls, or economy overhauls, etc.

Looking at all those big DLC sized mods for Bethesda games like Skyrim and Fallout. That shows that the modding community will put in the work if you give them the tools needed. Hopefully CDProjektRed promotes this editor and the mod base can grow as big as those other modding communities, which could make big DLC mods progress quicker.

CDPR allows you to port assets/lines/animations/music between their games, Bethesda Game Studios doesn't. A functional port of Witcher 1's Vizima has already been made in W3.

This is going to be amazing! The modding community was already strong before this which I appreciate in any game. Giving the user freedom to alter the game is always, always a big plus. With this we will (hopefully) be seeing a surge of better, higher quality and easier to install mods (not that the old process was too "difficult", but mainly because of conflicts and unfamiliarity with script merger in general) Really gives me motivation to go back to playing the game after so many playthroughs. it will take time before the he good/best mods come out. in 2-3 years the mods will be several times better than the 1st mods that will come out(look Skyrim for example), so you have time to save money for a PC. and in 2-3 years there will be a plethora of mods to install and won't have to wait for them to release.

So refreshing seeing GDPR use Steam in the tutorial, instead of GOG (their own launcher). Even tho I prefer GOG as of late, thanks to them letting you pick which game version you want… compared to steam, who shove the latest update down your throat, breaking all your mods, unless you want to mess around editing files and looking in SteamDB for the Depot files to change 😅😒 Keep up the good work with empowering your customers and community, to make the games they want.
