Fun fact: most members of the folk band Percival who performed the OST and played all of the historical instruments were self-taught and couldn't read sheet music (only one finished music school) so they basically told them "Ok then, we'd like a song roughly like this, go nuts" and they did. If you'd like to know more, there is a developer diary about that here on YT, the title is: "Creating The Sound - The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Official Developer Diary"

"Wine Wars" is from the Blood & Wine DLC which takes place in Toussaint, a part of the world that is heavily inspired from southern France and Northern Italy. That's why you hear some arcordéon in it. The softer woman voice is also a theme across the whole B&W soundtrack (compared to the very raw voice in the main game's soundtrack). the "wine wars" is a quest where two vineyards are in competition with each other and you are hire as a witcher to get each vineyard rid of the monsters that cause them trouble

The Wolf and the Swallow is definitely one that always gets me misty eyed. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the game next year (crazy it's been that long), the studio is doing a musical tour with an orchestra playing songs from the soundtrack and I so hope they're going to do one in Helsinki where I live. @@alarathael9631 Most magical creatures/monsters are weak to silver, in the games literally all of them. In the book the silver sword, since it's a silvered sword that can chip quite easily, is reserved for the more troublesome creatures like high vampires because silver is corrosive to "magically-attuned" creatures. For game purposes Silver just bypasses the defenses Monster-class enemies have vs Steel, and this includes all "Monster" type enemies, from drowners to the Wild Hunt. Just because you can also kill monsters with steel doesn't mean they aren't weaker to silver.

Don't mind me, just a casual request coming here: I would REALLY like you to check out the Terraria Calamity Mod OST. Why the random Mod and not the Vanilla soundtrack? Well, while Vanilla is amazing as well, here's the deal. Basically, the madman DM Dokuro decided to casually compose a one or two symphonic masterpieces for this Mod, which is, remind you, merely a fan project. No, he didn't really get paid for it, he did it because he wanted to. The community for some reason reacted with a whole lot of toxic backlash or rushing him to do more, which eventually lead him to quick. Now though, it's even more popular than the Vanilla OST, and for good reason. So here are my requests: 1. Tale of a Cruel World 2. Raw, Unfiltered Calamity 3. The Devourer of Gods nonstop mix (A combined piece of three individual tracks) 4. Roar of the Jungle Dragon 5. Stained, Brutal Calamity Most of them are really long, but that's either because they loop once and basically play twice, which is the case for 1, 2 and 4, or, as I said, they're coming near symphonic masterpieces, both in sound and length.
