Agreed on the point of it being one of the all-time best. I was totally ignorant of this universe when I started the game back in 2018. Since then I've read 3½ books, played the game all the way through both DLCs, and watched a bunch of lore videos, plus a playthrough of both previous games. Started a New Game + about a week ago. Gotta say, now that I know a ton more about the Witcher-verse than I did when I began my first playthrough -- having a much better understanding of who the characters are, their relationships and motivations, and just a bunch more general knowledge of all that's happening in that world -- it's waayyyy more fun on the 2nd go. Everything makes sense to me now; no more confusion on that front. And it's also cool to see how characters interact when you already know their plans/mindset. Nuances that went totally unnoticed before are now glaring and blaring. Couldn't recommend playing a game completely through for a second time more than I do this one.

And personally, I have only played the Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt, and that game was all about Ciri. I will close by saying that I loved Emma Appleton as "Renfri". That was one hell of a fight scene.

I can't imagine reading the books for the first time without playing the games, then finishing TW1 and TW2 and waiting a long time for this game to come out, then having this as an opening scene... watching Yennefer for the first time being caught in the middle of a battle in the Third War between Nilfgaard and the Northern Realms, then Geralt with Vesemir (who we havent seen since the first minutes of the first game many many years back) tracking her, Geralt finally looking for her... I wish I didnt played TW3 before playing the other games and more important, without reading the books.

This cinematic paired with this music. The word "epic" may still get thrown around a bit too much, but I think it really fits this cinematic. That and the whole Nilfgaard and Temeria at war. It makes me think that there have been times past when armies really fought in the fashion depicted here.

I really wish we would have this kind of cinematic in the end as well..I still feel the ending were great but we need to see more!
