Netflix announced Wednesday that it has ordered a fifth - and final - season of 'The Witcher.' The streamer also noted that season four, which will see Liam Hemsworth taking over the role of Geralt from Henry Cavill, has begun production.

The ending of this show was Henry's last scene. Blowing it with him was the end of the show period. This is what happens when the decision-makers are idiots and are allowed to prove it.

@@juina i know right. I'm dying to read the Superman movie that Henry and Mission Impossible director Chris Mcquarrie pitched to WB, who sadly turned them both down. Such a shame. However, insiders say he may have been asking for way too much money and major creative control, that an A level star can demand. However Cavill isn't an A level star (probably at least B - C level) and that to some degree I can understand WB being a little hesitant to bring him back due to his demands that maybe he hadn't quiet earned, but at the same time WB was also being extremely difficult as well.

Why? He cared more about principles and his reputation and standing with the fans than he cared about money. That is why his fans love him and I think it will pay out for him in the end.

@@1337Jogi well the fact they announced this would go for only two more seasons,( I don't know if they would have done more seasons or just stuck with 5 seasons if Henry was still on board, ) losing the Superman gig (which was one of the reasons why he left show to begin and let's not get started what happened there) the failure of Argylle, I don't know how things are going for Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare financially, but at least with the Witcher he had a secured a job where it seems he would have made 10 million a season for 4 and 5. BUT again, it seems like people were butting heads and if he was truly miserable, than maybe he did make the best decision to leave. But regardless, whatever my boy does next, I'll definitely be watching his upcoming 3rd movie with Guy Ritchie called In the Grey, his pet projects like Highlander and Warhammer TV shows. And if there's a chance Netflix somehow greenlits Snyder to finish JL 2 and 3 as an animated series, I hope Cavill at least agrees to return to play the voice of Superman.

He left because he didn't like where the writers were taking the show, and how they treated the source material. Henry wanted to follow the books. Show runner does not want to follow the books. Henry probably said "creative difference" at some point.

No, he left because they butchered the show GOT style. Just making it up as they go along and making Gerald a side character. He's passionate about the original books and game, so rightly jumped ship. Last 2 seasons were trash

No one is going to watch the fake seasons, it's deviated so much from the books it's not remotely correct. You treated the author, Henry and fans of the books and games with contempt. Any true fan of the actual Witcher books would cast the Igni sign at you.
