If you buy witcher 3 goty edition you will get 100+ hours of pure joy. Game came out in 2015 but I played it couple months ago for the first time. Although its 6 years old it is the best game I have ever played. I played the game 3 times in couple of months. Second playthrough was the best experience.

Witcher 3 is one of the best RPGs of this decade, but highly recommend buying it all the trilogy. It is worth it for just a pure story.

I felt like you missed mentioning that the kids which displayed outstanding performance on the witcher trials were subjected to a consecutive experiment in order to improve their skills even further and Geralt was the only known to ever survive this final trial, which is the mutation that gave him his white hair and supposedly decreased the suppression of his human emotions. Nonetheless, amazing videos!

The potion ingested is Black Blood (as referenced in-game by CDPR), revealed by the drop of blood that drips from his nose, and turns black before sizzling on the ground. I'm pretty certain the grenade he throws is Moon Dust, which contains silver fragments to hinder a creature's transformative abilities. That's why the bruxa reveals itself.

witcher 1 aged way better than witcher 2. you just need to understand that its not an action game with rpg elements, but rather rpg game with action elements. if you cannot play it. i recommend Joseph anderson for a critique/analysis of witcher 1. he also talks about the story from start to end so you will learn about it there.

Thanks for the Witcher series. Just watched all parts 1 till 3, and I must say, your narration is very soothing and you have a talent for this. As someone who's read the books and played through all the games I loved it. As for video suggestions, I'd be interested in the following: - the history of the Scoia'tael - more in-depth monster lore - Witcher Signs (I know you talk about them a bit in both parts 2 & 3, but I'd love for you to go more in depth with them. For instance, in addition to Aard, Quen, and Igni, there are others like Yrden & Axii as well. On top of them, there are ones like Heliotrop & Somne, both which are used in The Season of Storms book)

Dude, great video! At this point, I've seen pretty much all there is to the witcher lore, but everytime I'm bored I keep coming back. I think i may have a problem... Still, I think you've done an amazing job so far (all three videos are 10/10) and can't wait for the next part. Hopefully, more in depth on monster lore? The variety of monsters are one, if not the most, interesting aspect of the universe in my opinion. Great job again, my dude!!! :)

@@TheLorebrarians Be aware that it's pretty dark, haha, but it has such an excellent grim dark world with a very grueling yet interesting mythology that it's definitely up there with the Lords of the Fallen; it's surprisingly popular too. I haven't played Lies of P yet, as I've been hooked on LOTF, but I picked up the game last week, and I'm super excited to play it and see you cover it. So TL;DR those who become Witchers or who grow up into it (like Ciri) have a two choices: be the hero that you choose were raised to be and live a pretty terrible life or work for shady people and help further their shady agendas but get paid well. I really like this whole set up. Now we truly get to see witch of this people are truly good of hart and who will become a victim of their circumstances and become a killer for hire (understandable but still morally bankrupt).

There was arc like that in books. Witchers hunting monsters were called anachronistic, now they should hunt mother****ers, new monsters preying on simple folk.

I really like your Witcher videos and was excited that you uploaded a new one! Only thing is Witchers don’t constantly have both silver and steel swords sheathed on their backs. There was only one instance in the book Season of Storms that Geralt had both swords on him at one time, and he was checking them into the guardhouse for safekeeping. In the books one is always stored on the Witcher’s, Geralt in this case, horse. There’s no need for it until a contract to hunt a monster is accepted. This is actually one of the few things the show gets right and the games gets wrong. To be fair to the games, having both swords is a practical thing as running into monsters is much more frequent that it was in the books. If I remember correctly Geralt only used a silver sword in the books a handful of times while most of the fight scenes he used his Sihil, a Dwarven steel sword given to him by Zoltan in the book Baptism of Fire.

TY for making these great lore videos. I have always been interested in the Witcher lore more than the video games per se because i love a good story. Also because i am from eastern Europe and a few of the monsters from polish lore are common with romanian lore. It was great that the author of the books drew inspiration from real folklore. Now that season 2 of the tv show is out i am rewatching it whole and there were a few details that i did not understand and your videos helped a lot. Time to immerse myself in deep witcher lore for a week or two. :)

Fun fact a Witchers steel sword is crafted from meteorite iron and was originally used against monsters with a weakness to iron as not all can be dispatched with silver it was later used for dealing with the likes of men. (Pretty sure this explanation was in sword of destiny. Could be wrong though but I know it’s in one of the first 3 books.)

Witchers are basically medieval fantasy versions of Jedi. They are usually recruited against their will for having more mental and physical aptitude, they are very mysterious to the general population even sometimes scolded, and use abilities with alchemy and magic that have parallels to abilities Jedi use. The only main difference is that Witchers are monster slayers and Jedi… well I guess they just serve as good main characters and reinforce the plot armour around them letting the story run smoothly but that’s also kinda how Witchers are, or one Witchers being Geralt of Rivia.

so.. in events of the games and series, as a present days sort of speak. the major amount of monsters has descreased enough to humans stablish their kingdoms , but still has monsters lurking on the continent (problably legions of monsters beyond the continent) , but as witchers numbers got decreased too, if the monsters manage to increase their numbers again (by life cicle OR more of them coming from somewhere else) , the humans could be in war again but without the witchers numbers to fight at their side .. ?
